Which IDs do you want? The ID of the resource or the ID of the quote itself? If it's the ID of the quote itself, it's probably better to get a resource editor, and open Nova Data 5 in it. Then open STR# numbers 7100 and 7101. There you'll have them all.

I have an editor for EVN but it only shows me the quotes themselves not the numbers for the quotes which is what i need. like the numbers not "str#****" but i need the id number to put in the editor's info box thingy.

Does the "Hail Quotes" one start with: "<OSN>: <PN>, I have recently been given information on a bounty. Hail me if you're interested." and continue with: "<OSN>: Fair winds to you, <PSN>." ?
no its just like a normal sentence like: "A man alone is stronger than any known force in the universe". but there is supposed to be an "index number of a string in STR#7100 (and or STR#7101)".
Nope, not to my knowledge. The line you gave me is number 2 of the Comm Quotes. Does it appear first? What comes next?
EDIT: If you're display of the lines is really messed up, you can send me an e-mail and I can reply with all the details

how bout this... if u already dont have EVNEW then get it. go into it, click pers, click new, then study it and find where it says Comm quote(and/or Hail Quote) then open EVNEW a second time(this will cause a second window for EVNEW to open up), click on open, find the REZ file for "Nova Data5.rez", then click on str# and select str#7100 Comm Quotes(and or str#7101 Hail Quotes) and check it out. it doesn't give you the index number sor the string you want.
Thing is, I'm on Mac and have Mission Computer. There, the ID of the quote is given. So if you want a list of the quote IDs, just ask and I'll send it to you by mail (but it may take a while). Ok?

The ID# of each string in the STR# resource is the number of items down - 1 (ie the first one is 0, the second one is 1, the third one is 2, etc.). If you aren't seeing it properly, then you may have a corrupted data file or an old version of EVNEW. Make sure the data file isn't corrupted, that you are NOT USING 1.0.7 OR 1.0.8 DATA FILES (extremely important), and that you have EVNEW 1.0.3.
