What happens if you link two systems to the same stellar?

Obviously, you can't link the stellar to both. What would happen?

------------------

I don't know if its been tried. My bet is that the game would die while loading the system information. But go ahead and give it a try. Let us know what happens.

I tried this once.

One of the systems will get the stellar while the other gets a blank blob. Nothing crashes—the one of the systems will get a useless spöb.

From the nova bible:

It is important to always set navigation defaults for stellar
objects in your systems, because that's how Nova's AI routines and status
display keep track of stellar objects; if you don't set a planet as a nav
default, the AIs won't "see" it, it won't show up on the radar, and you can't
select it.

That, uh, really indicates nothing.

In Nova you do no longer have a system field in the spöb resource, only the systems state which planets are in them, not the other way round.

If only one of the systems is visible at a time, nothing strange happens. The spöb just alternates between being in one system and being in the other, depending on which is visible. (This is why the System field was dropped from the Nova spöb template.)

Hmm. I might yet find a use for it.

@Guy: does that mean that it could be used to create unselectable stellars?

In EVO, yes I think so. But I had forgotten (as Zacha pointed out) that Nova no longer has system fields in spob resources. Seems that bit in the bible is left over from EVO and actually has no relevance for Nova.

Last I checked, it created a non-landable planet of some sort... It did show up on radar, and on the screen, but the AI pretty much ignored it, as they do with other non-landables. Only one of the two were like this, one of them was fully functional. I don't recall exactly which was which.
