Two questions here:
How many different kinds of items can you carry? I have at least 30 weapons and pieces of armor that I'm waiting to sell until I need to.
Secondly, how many of each item can you carry? I bought over a hundred quail eggs to test my first guess, 99, but I thought I'd ask before I tested my next guess, 999.

As many as are available.
Quantity is either a short integer(255 max capacity) or a long integer(32000+).
In other words, it really doesn't matter.
