Plug-in Help

well, im using the reset missions plug so can do all the strings on one pilot. But i got that dumb stupid fed cloaking device wich i cant get rid of. So waht i did, is i went into my copy of the nova data files, found the fed cloakind device, and copied that resource file into a new plug. But i changed it and altered it so the randomness of it wasnt 50, but 100, and made it so that it doesnt stay with you on each ship, and made it so you can sell it. Now, i'm also using the plug pack(latest version), and i went to that fed outfitters system to get rid of it, but the thing is, after like 7 tries, the cloaking device still doesnt pop up, even with a random availability of 100!

so what im askiung is, could somebody help me so that i can get rid of this dumb thing?!

Nova loads plug-ins in alphabetical order, with the later plugs over-writing any resources of the same RID in earlier plugs. Just make sure your plug is loaded last: give it a name starting with Z. (Assuming none of the other plugs you're using start with that letter).

i did that and it still doesnt wok, moore help would be appreciated.

How do you learn stuff like this? Is it documented somewhere?

Did you change the tech level? As I recall, the Fed Cloaking Device has a tech level of 9999, which is not used in the stock scenario.

Have you tried going to the system one jump northwest of sol, where you can sell everything but not buy anything? Even the triphammer shows up there.

It's from equal parts of...
1.
Reading the Nova Bible (again and again and again). Also something I've found useful is to break it into separate files, one for each resource. Then every time you learn something that isn't in there, add it to your copy. Turn the Nova Bible into a living document that grows as you learn more.
2.
Experience is the greatest teacher of all. That's where the "Nova loads plug-ins in alphabetical order" tidbit of knowledge came from, because it's not documented anywhere.
3.
Examples abound when it comes to figuring out how things work in Nova. There's over 100 megabytes of examples in your "Nova Files" folder. And then there's always 20+ pages of plug-ins (and guides and utilities) in the add-ons site.
4.
Searching, both here in the Developer's Corner as well as on the main EV Nova forum is also very fruitful. In addition, Google (or whichever search-engine you prefer) is the right search tool for some topics.

Go for it...
