Do any of the graphics people out there know how to apply bump maps to picture-based textures in Bryce 5? All I can seem to do is alpha channels with a black/grey/white mask.

I don't know anything about Bryce 5, but usually bump maps are a separate texture channel.
What I mean by this is you use one map for color and maybe alpha. You use another image map for bump maps, another for specular, etc.

Bryce 5 is a bit strange in the way it handles maps. In the material atributes editor, you have to import the bumpmap as an alpha channel and make it a seperate layer. That probably makes no sense, but I'm not sure how to explain it more clearly without confusing you.
