Hello, I need some help with how to make sprites and masks for ships and weapon animations. I already know how to turn a ship into a movie file using strata 3d but i don't know where to go from there. Any help would be great, thanks

Do you have a graphics program with a grid setting like photoshop or flash?
Unless one of the mac users with m2s here decides to help you out, you'll need to render each frame to its own file and place them in the sprite format manually.

That's what I was afraid of. So then how big should each image be? The size that it's going to be in game or something else?
It depends. If you have access to photoshop, you should render 2x size so you can use the lasik technique (url="http://"http://www.oxy-web.com/evnep/tutorials/_LASIK/lasik.html")here(/url). During that process, you reduce image size by half.
If you don't have photoshop, you should probably render at game size.
