Govt Ally/Class/Enemy feild

Im very confused as to what i put in the feilds in Nova Tools. If someone could do it for me (Calculate (or what not) the feilds), Heres the goods:

Govt1
RID- 196
Index- 68
Classmates with: Govt2 and Govt3
Enemy to: Govt 4

Govt2
RID- 197
Index- 69
Classmates with: Govt1 and Govt3
Enemy to Govt4

Govt3
RID- 198
Index- 70
Classmates with: Govt1 and Govt2

Index- 70

If you need more information, please ask. Plus, i want Govt1, 2 and 3 to attack Govt4 on sight.

(note: numbers are relatively arbitrary)

The only things that need to be consistent are the classes and allies of govt's 1, 2, and 3 and the enemy of govt 4, and the enemy of govt 1, 2, and 3 and the class of govt 4.

Is this for an add-on for the Nova scenario? (I ask this because your govts start at 196, Nova's last is 195). If that's the case, you may want to use unique class values.

Yes it is an addon. Its just very confusing. Why doesnt matt just make it so you enter the govt rid (or index) into that box and be done with it.

Nope. It didnt work. But i think i got it now. You get in the govt editor and put a number in the class feild. That number (X) now can be used in the Ally or Enemy feild of another govt, right?

In EVC and EVO, we indeed just had to enter the ID of the ennemy govt and the ID of the ally govt. But there was some drawbacks: a government could only be told to have one ennemy (there could be more by telling the other ennemy govts to be ennemy with the main one, but that used up their ennemygovt field) and one ally. That's why classes have been introduced. Classes are groups of governments that have a number, and other govts can then be said to be ennemies or allies of one whole class, making no distinction between govts in the class even tough govts in a class do not have to be allies and can even be ennemies, they just have something in common (i.e. ennemies of yet another govt).

A govt can belong to up to 4 classes. He can be ennemy with up to 4 classes, and ally with up to 4 classes. If you want to have a class of allies, set all the allied govts to be in the class #x, and be allied with class #x. The fact govs belong to the same class has no consequence whatsoever in itself, just that then other govts can be told to be allies/ennemies of the class, so to all these govts in this class.

It doesn't appear to be documented; I'd say that 255 as a max is safe, in the worst case if you put class numbers below that it's sure it will work. You don't need more classes than that, do you?

I have a feeling that, like tech levels, theres no limit on class number size, as they just refer to eachother.

Yes, but the number still needs to be stored in a container somehow (in the case of the tech level, a signed 16-bit integer), so there's still a max. There's always a max in computing.
