Make sure EVNEW works, and that you have atleast EVNEW 1.0.2 or better.
You propably want all your .rez files to be associated with EVNEW, right? You propably want a nice icon for them too - download a port of the mac icon here: (url="http://"http://www.aznt.com/EVN/files/icon2.zip")www.aznt.com/EVN/files/Icon2.zip(/url) and extract it.
1. Open any folder and go to Tools->Folder Options. 2. Go to filetypes. See if .rez is listed. 2a. If not, click New, and enter REZ, and click OK. 3. Select .rez and note the details section. 4. Click the advanced button. 5. Next to the icon, click change, and browse to the icon you downloaded (be sure to set "Files of type:" to "All Files"). Click open, click the icon, and then click OK. 6. Under Actions, click new. 7. For action, put "open" (w/out the ""s), and for application, click Browse, and find and select EVNEW, and click Open. It will fill in the path name for you. Add "%1" after the path, so it should look something like: D:EVStuffEVNEW.exe "%1" Click OK. 8. Click New again, and this time, we want "Convert to Text" as the action, and EVNEW as the application, only this time, we want it to look something like: D:EVStuffEVNEW.exe -totxt "%1" "%1.txt" 9. Click OK, and you are done. Enjoy. Any problems, contact me. You should now be able to open plugs by double clicking on them, they should have cool icons, and you should be able to convert them to text by rightclicking on them and selecting Convert to text. -Az

(edit) You're welcome. .rez was associated automatically on my comp, but knowing how to do that manually is great. Oh my. feels like an idiot Fixed. Thanks. -Az
Interesting hack (for the computer illiterate, a hack is a neat little trick, usually undocumented, NOT a crack). Keep up the good work, Az.

Is there a way to do a quick convert to .rez?

Yeah, you could do the same things in steps 8-9 for the .txt extension, changing the command to D:EVStuffEVNEW.exe -torez "%1" "%1.rez" However, this would appear as an option for ANY text file, which would be kinda annoying. Also, though it may be possible, i dont know how to keep extensions from accumulating on the end (plugin.rez->plugin.rez.txt->plugin.rez.txt.rez) -Az
I can just delete the extra extensions. Thanks.
Interesting, though, I converted a .txt to .rez and got name.txt.txt.rez
