I want to test out the Rebel IDA Frigate (Rebel Upgrade III), but I can't capture it. So I set out to create a plug. I lowered the strength of the ship to 100 and the crew to 50, but, even though I have an IDA Frigate (1170) w/ a Manticore & Pirate Valk. IV escorts, the capture rate is still around 23%, and I cannot capture it.
So, if anyone would kindly like to take a look at my plug and tell me what's wrong with it, I'd be much ablidged. Please email me or reply back here with a response. Thank you. Sounds like proper behavior to me. The defenders get an obscene defence advantage. -Az

If by defenders, you mean the Rebel Frigate's Vipers, they're all dead. If you mean the ones defending against the capture, you're correct. However, I made sure they had a disadvantage by purchasing five marine platoons and doing the above to the Rebel Frigate.
Please download it and test it out.
Total Strength=300+42.5+22.5=465 Total Crew=100+12+0=112 Target Crew=50 Target strength=100 Capture Odds=(112/500)*100=~22% 465!>500 No percentage chance upgrades. So the chance should be 22+-5, or 17-27. Your value is just what I would expect. With 5 Platoons, that should be 41-51% chance. -Az
Personally, I don't see why you don't just make a plug to give yourself the ship. If your going to go to the trouble of making the game easier and almost guarantee a capture... I don't really see any difference.

if you really want to capture the ship you should 1.buy 18 marines and 2. copy the ship properties (ie the pict, ship, ect.) into a seperate plugin (from the files) and set the crew to the low number. what you really should do is delete all of the availabilty bits and the tech level so that you can buy the ship anywhere.

Well, I don't want to go through the trouble of making all of its escorts and tech available; that'd take me a while.
Hmm, so the capture rate is right on, eh? But the capture rate was the same when the ship was unchanged. Ah well... I'll change the crew and strength to 2.
