I am having trouble importing pictures into EVNEW... Does the picture have to be a certain size, file type or resolution to be able to import it?

------------------
File types are anything that Quicktime can handle. As for the size that depends on what your trying to import. For instance planet and satalite pics vary in size wile the say a target graphics is pretty much fixed in size.
If you could give more info on what your trying to do maybe we can give more specific help.

What I wanted to do with picture is to have it show up when I hail a pers ship I created. The picture isn't very big (its only 31kb) so I don't think that will be a problem.
Note that Nova itself may put limits on the dimentions of those pictures. In general, i try to use the bmp format, because it is lossless. Could you be more spesific on what you are trying to do and what isnt working (and mabey what version of windows you're running)? -Az

Definately. Tiresmoke had a problem with Windows 2000 because of some obscure, stupid security issue.

I am using windows XP (home). The picture I'm using is a .bmp (converted from a .jpeg)
In EVNEW I open up a new pict resource and give it an ID number. Then I clicked on file and selected import. After I selected the file I wanted to import, I click ok and I get a message saying that the import failed. I tried this several times with several different images and got the same result...
It sounds like the same problem I had and WinXP works the same as Win2000 in this respect, make sure you are in an admin account when you try to edit in EVNEW. Check in your C:Documents and SettingsYour user nameLocal SettingsTemp for any files named "PICT #". That should be an indication that things are working with that user account. If you don't see that file then go into your user account in your control panel and make sure you are set to an admin account or if need be create a new one and use it.
I hope that helps.

I was unable to find any files named "PICT #" or files going by a similar name. Also my account is an admin account. Thanks for the help though...

Try making a new admin account. Thats what fixed mine. The original Admin account was curropted appearantly.
