Well, when I put my registration number in, it gives me an error, and the 3d.com site says it's under construction. Does this mean you can no longer register 3.0.2? I got a new computer for christmas and would like to be able to use strata on it. :frown:

I hear there are some registration codes around for 3.0.2. I know i was able to register strata 3.5 for the PC with no problems, and i saw a download there for a mac strata 3.5. -Az

I think you misunderstand. I already have a code, I got my own when you still could. But now when I enter it and it's supposed to verify it at the 3d.com site it gives me an error. I'm worried that they took that registration site down and that I won't ever be able to put strata on my computer.

Yes, the web site is down (I think for good). Some people around here might have workarounds, though.

Well that's a shame. If anyone knows how to get around this, I have a working code (not that it matters, I guess), and I'm on a PC.
It's a shame, it's probably already unintalled from my other computer, and I doubt I have enough patience to learn another modelling program. Ah well, looks like my 3D days are over.
To anyone it concerns, I sent an email to strata support and found that the registration site has indeed been taken down and won't be coming back. Strata 3.5 Base is still available free, although a lot of feautres (like animation :frown: ) are disabled.

Yeah, I've got the same feeling. I registered 3.0.2, but the second time I tried to use it, it had unregistered itself.
I've looked at a few other 3d modelers, but none are as easy to use as Strata. And I refuse to use 3.5 because it won't let you set the render size, so I can't get the sprites small enough.
Suddenly, I stopped caring and decided to play through Polycon again.

You can just set the modeling window to a square and then downsize it in photoshop. The dimensions of the rendering are always the same dimensions as the modeling window before you initially hit render. Once you render something, if you want to change the dimensions you have to reload the model. For example, when I render sprites, I usually make the window 176x176 (the smallest square possible, you can see the dimensions of the window in the upper left corner as you resize it) and then downsize them later. Use this technique to get any dimensions you want. The only thing I could see a problem with would be if you had to render something larger than your screen, but hopefully your sprites aren't quite so big

actually, if you render it all to a series of PICT files, p2s can make that into a sprite thing, and if you downsize that whole 6x6 sprite, you don't have to go through the work of doing each one.
or you could make a droplet in photoshop, if you wanted.

Why would he not be running a Macintosh version?!
Some time ago, I asked the same question. I was directed to e-mail him, the reason being that he had a Windows version of Strata 3.0.2. Although I never got a response, I am pretty sure that he is using (or used to use) at least one Windows copy of the program.
