With a large galaxy, several hundred Xxxx tags would be a huge pain to type in, and they wouldn't even fit in one 255-character set string field. It would be much easier to Gxxx a map outfit with a ModValue of something rediculously high like 1000 to explore the whole galaxy, assuming it is connected. If it's not connected, then you may have to use some tricks to execute all of the Xxxx, such as put them in silent auto-aborting missions' OnStart field and then use the Sxxx several times in the char's OnStart field.

Yes, but it's not a large galaxy. It's Earth.

Still, it depends on how many locations you do. If you made each major city, as well as some minor destinations and military bases a 'system', you could still turn out with a really large 'starmap'.

Well...that won't be a problem, since I don't intend to do it for every major city, and a few minor locations. I figure, 5-10 military bases per government, depending on the size and the power.
EDIT: Fixed figures for realism.

Actually, if you have galaxies that aren't connected, I figured that you can just Mxxx the player around and grant them maps. This actually works quite well and has been tested (in earlier Nova versions).
AnubisTTP: Ah, I see why. I keep forgetting that it's just a port from EV to Nova...

Just a quick question: How many systems are there in Polycon?
I'll keep these tips in mind as I develop.

I count 322 systems in my copy, but I think it has a few extra systems that are not in the final version.
