I have noticed something strange happens when I put the same spob in two systems that are visible at the same time - one of the instances of the spob ends up having no graphics and is unlandonable. What is up with this? Is this intentional, or a strange interaction?
Also, on a totally different topic, anyone tried the negative-inaccuracy value trick in EVN 1.0.7? There is a report that it may not work. This would SUCK, because I had many plans to use it, and i cannot see why they would have removed it right after telling people to great response. -Az

See my post in the topic. Or, if you don't feel like clicking the mouse a few times, it works.

I think the feature of having the same spöb (remember: alt-u, then the letter on a mac for ö,ä,ë, etc...) exist in multiple system was not meant to be used in two simultaneously visible systems but for system swapping. It's possible that the engine has the graphics and the actual load of the landing process in one sytem at a time. Just wondering.

Are you planning on saving a few spobs in SS now?

Not supported; don't do it.

Jonathan: Ummm. I am definately not on the SS team (though i wish i was). I have no idea what they are doing.
Zacha: I use a PC. Atleast last i tried with strange alt-### combos (thats how to get those charachters on a PC) it required you use the numpad keys, and since i am on a laptop, i dont HAVE a numpad. I have no idea how to make my computer display the dots. I am perfectly aware that there are dots over the o - so there is no reason to remind me that they belong there.

I dont do this on purpose (it ends up happening when i'm not careful with mapping). I was wondering if there was something strange going on. It was kinda disconcerting when I first noticed it (the system the spob was supposed to be in was the one with the ghost-spob - so it looked like i had done something horribly wrong to the spob in question). Thanks for the answer. -Az

Yes, but I am, and I do. Mwahaha...
Two words: Character Map.
Ah. Whoops. Lose track of who's doing what.

Has uses though if you simply want a source of gravity in a system or a deadly stellar. Or a nav beacon.
Does your laptop have a little blue Fn button (or something like that) in the corner? If so, there should be little blue labels on the sides of the 7, 8, 9, U, I, O, J, K, and L keys, among others. To type anything with a blue label, hold the Fn button and hit the corresponding key. Of course, it would still be a mighty pain to hold Alt and Fn while trying to get those characters. You could always just copy and paste them from somewhere else.

Heh, I've been doing the &(vowel)uml; for a while now, ever since I first saw you show how.
The only downside is it doesn't work on EV-Nova.net, because it automatically converts & to &.
By the way, you can do any special characters in this way. Go to WebMonkey for the full list.
