I believe I have been in Fayleese's cellar....(is this down the well thingy?) I fought the mages and everything happened so fast...I don't know what happened. Anyway, I noticed I am still missing the "portal" spell. Am a Conjuror....have the Spells Expander, WoC etc, etc,....and have all the "spells" connected to those plug-ins except for "portal". I have completed all the quests in the aforementioned and still don't know why I didn't get the portal spell. I don't remember being given a "choice". Actually, I don't remember much of anything anymore. Can anyone shove me in the right direction to obtain this portal spell if possible. I'd really like to save this game and character ... awaiting new plug ins and such. Thanks in advance for any help I can get.
(Correction....I don't have the "evoke life" spell either) (Correction again...apparantly I don't have the blazing inferno spell....although I did find the ice blast and shock sphere thingies...) I'm so confused now!!!

When you rescued Fayleese he gave you a reward of a spell. He offered you the choice between Relocate and Portal. When you made your choice you were teleported to where he had hidden that tome. Once you obtained the tome you teleported back and that was that.
A creative mage will be able to obtain both tomes.

Evoke life is a riddle. There is one obscure hint in the tower from Quarius.

Hi MyzDefy, Welcome to the boards. When you defeated the band of thieves that had taken over Fayleese,s well cellar, you were given a choice of spells as a reward. In my opinion you have made the "right" choice. To obtain the Tome of Portal you have to steal it since it was not offered to you other than as an alternative to Relocate (which you seem to have). To steal this book requires a little deductive reasoning and perhaps some degree of either luck or patience. Fortunately for the sake of the plug-in, but unfortunately for you, the exact way to do this has not yet been posted on the web and I am not inclined to offer more than hints. Go back to Fayleese and take a close look at the big picture. If that doesn't do it for you, I and some others might provide a less subtle hint by e-mail.
The Tome for Evoke Life is not one you will stub your toe on, nor can you buy it. When the time comes that you need this spell, a way of obtaining it becomes available. I think I should say no more on that.
Confussion is fostered by the fact that Fayleese plays a role in two plug-ins. The Tome for Blazing Inferno is available from the World of CHa0s plug-in only. Most of the action for this plug-in takes place on an island off the SW coast. Perhaps you should go there and take a good look around too. You probably picked up an item designed to be an aid in obtaining this tome.
Most of the members here are happy to point you in the right direction, but we hesitate to "spill the beans" and thereby spoil the fun of discovery so the answers you get will, at times, be vague as I'm sure mine was above. Good luck with your game, and please post back if you need stronger hints. ~RD
Edit: Stark beat me to the punch AGAIN!

Have you been everywhere?

Ah, yes, I remember first playing that plug, I did find the two spells, but it took around 10 emails to stark (nope, 9, I just counted, though those are only the ones I sent) to get the evoke life...I had tried everything but the right thing indeed. Good thing Stark is so patient. Of course, you have to be to make a plug like that.

Thanks for your response. I probably don't "remember" the "choice" since I was doing a frenzied mouse clicking thingy during the melee that probably obliterated my view of the choices in the dialouge box ...well...the boxes flew by too quickly as it were. I am, however encouraged by RD's post below that I can obtain it another way (portal)....as for evoke life, I may have an idea on that one ... I'll check it out. Regardless...I thank you again...and also thank you wholeheartedly for your "walkthrough" as I love rpg's and mysteries...but don't seem to have the motivation or time to "figure it ALLout" ...like I used to as a person of a younger persuasion. Sheesh...that was ages ago. Anyway, love the spells expander and would love to see more!!
Thanks Rubber Ducky for the welcome and the response. See my post to Stark here also. Subtle hints are fine with me, I may still have some gray matter left.
However, my confusion doesn't come from Fayleese, it's just a given at my age. I wonder though, since I have completed all the quests he's asked of me so far, and a couple elementals are walking round the cellar willy nilly, might that change things for me???
Also....as I was thinking last nite, which is dangerous yet somehow stimulating, I had an idea that I may have picked up something cool in which to help me obtain the Inferno thingy. I'll try that out in a bit here. I just have an idea it may not involve hacking away with a magical thingy on that barren island....maybe another approach.
Anyway....thanks again for your help...if I need more...I'll scream (after much hair pulling, moaning and gnashing of the teeth). Your maps are great, btw...and I thank you for them too!!
Okay...used relocate and got in Fayleese's lil room...but no tomes to be found...any other hints???

If you are standing in Fayleese's well in Dernath and you hit "tab" for the overhead view, how many rooms do you see?
Edit: typo

yeah...I saw the other room...that's where I "relocated" to....still no tomes...is there another room or more????????

Now why would two tomes be in the same room if you had to chose one over the other? Try some deductive reasoning, or if not that, maybe some experimentation.

No doubt. Mage's aren't known for their self-restraint when it comes to tomes of knowledge.

Or too bright when hiding that knowledge..

I don't know. I've had quite a few people that haven't figured that out, or haven't figured it out without help.

Yes, but a real conjuror would no doubt have no trouble finding it.
Well finally...even though I have "no restraint" ...hee hee....and used some of that confounded "deductive reasoning" and the dreaded "experimentation", I got that elusive "portal" spell. Thanks for your help Rubber, Stark...and btw Slav...does this make me a "real" mage now??
