Sup all, I'm trying to make an EVN enhanced sounds 1.2 plugin. A problem i'm having is that I tried to use the plugin on my windows XP computer (the plug is created with mac, but i don't have a copy on that computer right now). It won't work! I open it with EVNEW and all it has is 32 sounds (which is jim dandy-its not supposed to change anything else) I played the sounds in EVNEW and resedit, no problems. I checked the IDs, they match the original IDs. The thing is that all of my sounds except a few are of really high quality and take up lots of space (the sample rate for most is 22050 Hz) However, i checked the rates for some of the original sounds and some are the same rate. One sound from the plug worked (it was only about 11127 Hz) and that made me more confused). Other than that one, i hear nothing when a sound is supposed to be played. The sounds are in .sfil format. Are there any limitations that are on sounds that I do not know? I used stuffit 8 to decompress my files, but it usually has no problem with the other plugs...
Also, any feedback pertaining to my old enhanced sounds would be nice. Thanks for your time.

I don't know what made you think otherwise, but sounds must have a sample rate of 11 kHz. StuffIt 8 is fine, as long as you don't use 7.5 (I think that was how it worked).

Backwards. 7.5 always works, 8.0 sometimes works (atleast on PCs)
In any case, due to the limitations of the engine, i think sounds cant be high quality. I dont think anyone has touched the sound code since the release of EV classic. -Az

Does EVN like 16-bit, 24-bit, and 32-bit depth sounds, or can it only handle 8-bit sounds? I thought I once read somewhere that it can only handle 8-bit sounds, but I have no idea where that was. Currently, EVNEW converts all imported sounds to 8-bit, but I can easily change that if it turns out that EVN can handle higher depth sounds.

how would one go about converting it to 8 bit with EVNEW? Its an option i'd like to try.
I doubt there is a 11 hz limitation. If you poke around in the original sound files you will see some of them are more than 11 hz, and they are still playable. ------------------ EVN Enhanced Sounds 1.2 in the Works.

I think what he is saying is it automatically converts it.
I fired up Quicktime and i'm planning to export the sound files with the different options. for example i'll export a sound thats 11 khz, one thats 8 bit, and one thats mono. After this i should know which options work and which don't. be back soon

Stereo is okay. I don't know what bits are for sounds. Sample rate must be 11 kHz.
