i've got a pretty good idea for a plug-in the problem is I don't know the first thing about making a plug-in. The solution would be to read the ev bible but I don't even understand that. Could someone help me please?

If you can't understand these things called 'words' and 'numbers' that make up the EV Bible, then I somehow doubt you're going to be able to handle making a plugin. The rest of us at least broadly figured out how plugins worked before we ran into problems and had to ask - I don't see why you should be any different. Have another try.

To get started, try opening up the default Nova data files and see how the work. For example, open on spob 128 (Earth) in Nova Data 4, look at all the fields, and then look at the spob section of the Bible to get an understanding of what each field does. If you read the Bible straight through, you might not absorb everything. Keep at it gradually and eventually you'll understand how everything works.

The bible won't help you if you don't read past the title. Your question is like: Could you tell me which 3D program to use and how to make the next Finding Nemo? Or maybe: I want to learn how to build a better car than the Pagani Zonda, can anyone tell me? I need to build a G6 from scratch, I need help. I want to make the next EV Nova, I don't know where to start. Be like the rest of us and experiment. I started learning before there were plugins and an EV bible. To make a simple plug isn't that difficult. It isn't like getting teeth pulled. Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and spend more than 30 seconds trying to make a plug, you have far more resources at your disposal than I ever did.

yeah matrix is right, experiment arund a little bit. before i read the bible, i played around with EVNEW, how EVNEW worked, and how some of the files that worked in .REZ, and dont push yourself to get it done. you have as much time as you need to understand how it works. (i, embarresingly :redface:, still dont know how sprites work, but im reading the bible as steady as i can. someday ill understand it)
