Okay: as I said in another topic (before it was locked), I made a sorta cheat-y outfit so that I could rack up kills for missions requirements in Override EVN. Unfortunatly, lots of other ships have it, too, and they are kicking my arse. It has a different RID than all of the other outfits, but for some reason, it shows up instead of blaze cannons (or turrets. not sure which one).
Please help.

Is the stay with you no matter what flag checked? :sighs: I need to do some Development Work: ------------------

That didn't make sense...
You need to clarify that

Check it again. I have a sneaking suspicion that when you created it, you left the default ID value in the wëap resource. This would cause the Blaze cannons (if its RID is 128) or the Blaze turrets (if its RID is 129) be replaced with your übergun. The öutf resource just tells the engine what special features to add to your ship (be it fuel, ammo, jamming, or wëaps).

No, I made sure that i checked that, and i double-checked it just now.
The default ID for Blaze cannons is 128. A while ago, i made my weapon with ID 128, too, but then i changed it to 203 (after the first #, before the last #. There is some kind of space between numbers for some reason). Unfortunatly Kraits are still destroying my escorts, and it angers me.
This is really wierd...
Hmm, at first I thought the reason it was displaying as a blaze cannon is because it had the same display weight and the 'hide items of equal display weight' flag checked... but that wouldn't explain other ships having it. I think you've got a real puzzle here.

Standard Moronic User questions: Have you futzed with the Data Files? Have you updated the plug in your Plug-ins Folder? Have you quit and restarted EVx after modifying a plug?
Otherwise, the only other thing it could be besides "corrupt plugin" would be to think that you have an öutf that is pointing to the wrong wëap. So, what wëaps do öutf ID 128 and 129 point to?
 God Dammit. I am such an arse. I was only checking the flippin' outfit resource, not the weapon rescource.
Sorry. You can lock this one too, Mazca
Slaps Forhead and walks away muttering
Ouch, that's got to hurt
No reason to lock this one though. As I've discovered, locked topics tend to get more views due to people's morbid curiosity... I trust you probably don't want that.
Makes note: Addendum to Standard Moronic User Questions: Are you checking the right resource?
Not to worry, I have won a couple of "Golden Duh" awards myself.
Yeah, thanks guys. Lets just let this thing float into oblivion from here on in
Wait: New problem.
Now my outfit is a blaze cannon. Dammit. I changed every ID to an un-used number. Nothing that i can see matches up with ID 128. I hate evrything. Except help.
I think that you may have an öutf that is pointing to the wrong wëap. So, what wëaps do your öutfs point to? If they are pointing to the wrong thing you can get some strange results.

No, that is the wierdest part: I checked what the outfit resource was poiting to, and it said 203, the nuber of my new outfit. The outfit of the blaze cannon is 128.
Should I just start over? Make a new plug with my edited ship and weapon again?
I had more stuff in the plug, but i erased them, because i didn´t want them anymore, so I don´t know if that screwed it up, or if it is just EVNEW that is screwing up my plug.

Does wëap ID 203 exist?
Could you e-mail me your plug so I can see what is going on? My e-mail is in the bar above this message.
It does in some plugs for EV, but it could not be for EVO Data Files. I am not sure.
------------------
Weapon 203 does not exist, and it is certainly not a Blaze Cannon. I will email you my plug in .rez form
And Kauthor: I am still editing EVN files. They are just for a TC.

Check your Inbox. I futzed with your plug a bit and got it to work. I still have yet to figure out how a perfectly good computer, perfectly good program, and perfectly good file can produce results that make no sense, are wrong, and have no apparent origin. Such as in the case of your plug.
It is very wierd, isn't it? I am pretty sure i have some kind of virus on my computer, but I don't think it would affect EVN. I told you this in the reply, but I think that I will tell evryone else what happened when I loaded up Chuckle's plug:
-I had my shuttle, but there was no planet underneath it -My shuttle wouldn't respond to movement commands -there were no other systems on the map, and nowhere to land in the system that i was in
That is even more strange than my problem
I hate it when that happens, but it's usually caused by you being in a system that doesn't exist. ie. you have a plug that adds a system, you go there, you quit, then remove the plug, then try to play you pilot file.
