It is possible to have a weapon that has 2 sound choices. The first sound is for when the shot hits the target, and to have a second, you have to have the shot submunition into another invisible, non damaging shot with a different bööm resource. As far as making a random choice, I don't believe that that is possible.

It is not possible, no, beyond the strange submunitioning tricks. -Az

It's kind of possible. Use two weapons that are identical other than their sound. Set them on primary trigger, and with any luck the sounds will alternate. Not random, but bam-pop-bam-pop is better than bam bam bam bam. You could use as many weapons as you want, I think.
Another way, if primary-trigger weapons fire at the same time, is to change the reload time. that would give interesting variations.
Another way, if p-trigger weapons fire at the same time, is to put in weapons that do nothing, but have a sound. The sound is the trick- it needs to have a delay in it so that the sound lines up with the second shot. You would them get bam - bampop (overlaid). With creative sound design it would be cool. Another thing to point out is to double (or triple) the reload rate of that "useless" weapon so that you don't always get bampop after the first shot.
If you need to know how to do invisible weapons for combinations, just ask. I'm a master- SS uses them all over the place.
