EVNEW is going to be released shortly, along with the source code as promised. However, I just found out that freeservers apparently has a 250 kb limit on file size, so I need a site to host the files. The zipped executable is 447 kb and the zipped source code is 266 kb. I just uploaded the executable to the Add-ons page, but I don't know how long that will take to appear. EVNEW Public Beta 1.0.0 is ready to be released.

I can host it on (url="http://"http://www.aznt.com")www.aznt.com(/url). I have emailed you. -Az

Failing that, I can happily host it on mazca.com for you - email me. Go with Azratax first, though, he offered first.

Or, you could go with a different free site, such as: Angelfire Tripod (free CGI support) Freewebs (not-so-free CGI support) Geocities
Mazca: what's the point of Mazca.com, anyway? All you get are pictures (other than these people who request server space using it) to my knowledge...although some of them are pretty funny (anatomy of a stickie (sticky?)...hehehe)...

EVNEW has been released. I didn't want to pollute the board with another post, so head on over to (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/ubb/postdisplay.cgi?forum=Forum26&topic;=015015")http://www.ambrosias...26&topic=015015(/url) for details.

To add to this list... (url="http://"http://www.hostrocket.com")Hostrocket(/url) was offering a (url="http://"http://www.hostrocket.com/free")free webpage(/url) which seemed like a good deal especially since they looked ad free. If you need their credentials, (url="http://"http://www.ev-nova.net")EV(/url)(url="http://"http://www.evula.com")u(/url)(url="http://"http://www.evula.net")l(/url)(url="http://"http://www.evula.org")a(/url) uses them as his host. You got the point exactly, I'm afraid. All you are SUPPOSED to get is stupid pictures.
Most of my bandwidth is in fact taken up with hosted sites ( (url="http://"http://www.infestworld.com")http://www.infestworld.com(/url) being the biggest). the images part is basically a way for me to express my rather unhinged creativity without putting in too much effort.

So do I, and so does Jon Pearse (Gildor), and I believe Captain Scurvy. It's definitely a very good hosting company, although I haven't tried the free version.
Wow... I'm not a windows user, but thanks is due for the effort you put in. Maybe now we can have less "Plz cn sum1 make this litl plug to mak ion canonss frie?" topics, or answer them with a better reply: "Do it yourself."
I'm sure you've made a lot of Peecee people very happy.

Looks at Azdara's name Something I don't understand...how would you put yourself in the EVO scenario? There's a ship called the Azdara (which is probably what you named your "handle" after)...just ahem curious...
Anyhow...Aprosenf++? Would that be Bqsptfog? Yuch. Yucky word.
Notices Azdara's intentional spelling and grmmatical errors that is so true...

We will, thank you.
I loaded a ship sprite of mine into the game and discovered it was 'off' by about 30 degrees and animated backwards. Oops.
(Edit: Is the First Plug that adds 2 weapons, a ship, a system and an invulnerability outfit mandatory? I hope not...)

No more "how ken i make plugs wit windoz cuz i dont know how and was wanting to trie" for us. Aprosenf = Saint.
Very nice.
Give the man a karma point already.
Oh and Mac users no fear a standalone convertor vor .rez files is coming very soon.

Nice Editor, so far, I have only ONE bug to report. Two Recommendations, though...
Bug: It will not allow you to type in the short-name Field of the rank part of the .rez, Lets you delete, but not add anything...
Recommendations: Allow a option to remove all number-caps, because having a high number set to some random number multiple times annoys me...
Put some form of documentation with Bit Expressions, so far, I know K = Add Rank, and the number afterwards is the rank in the rank tab (Example, 128 is the Federation Commander Code).... so, if you insert K128 on the "On Accept" Option of the misn files, you will receive the rank of Federation Commander upon accepting that mission...
I Hope I helped

Actually, that's good that he put that in. You obviously don't understand the Game Constants (not that that's bad—it simply means you haven't ever read the Bible). There are limits on everything you can make (e.g. only up to 1000 missions). Obviously, Aprosenf put in a feature to automatically have it go to the highest one that the game will pay attention to.
Also note that the numbers are not random—they follow the game constants, and actually have a sort of system. Most are one of these numbers: 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024 2048 See the pattern?
Not sure, but I think Aprosenf mentioned that it would come with documentation. If it did, it's probably in there. You can also check the tooltips in case Aprosenf put it in them—most of the Bible can be found in there, as I recall.
In the event neither of the above works, just download the Bible. It has excellent (by my standards, anyway) coverage of ncb's and the (LETTER)xxx operators. Of course, that means they're probably in the tooltips.
I'd check, but why should I download it when I have multiple programs capable of doing this task?

confirmed bug Wow. Im surprised I or someone else didnt catch that one in the first round beta. Have you emailed Aprosenf about this?
Number-caps? What do you mean by this?
As for bit expressions, i think the best advice is to read the Nova Bible. I dont belive Aprosenf set out to make a program that would have so much information built in that one would never need the Bible, infact he says you should read the nova bible in the readme. If you are making plugs, you need the Bible. EVN comes with the Nova Bible in the nova documentation folder (that version is a little out of date though - Theres a good HTML version on the addons page though that I use when my printed version isnt around).
Orca: Ever read the section on NCB set and test expressions? Its waaaay too big for a tooltip. -Az

That rank bug has been fixed. The reason it did that was because I didn't notice that that control had the "number" flag associated with it as a result of copying and pasting controls around earlier on in development. As for the "number caps" issue, I'm not completely sure what you mean, but my guess is that if you put in a really large number for something, it will come back out as a seemingly-random number when the resource is reopened. The reason for that is that most of the data is stored in 16-bit integers, which means that it must be in the range -32768 to 32767. If a number is outside of that range, it will be clipped into that range by throwing away the most significant bits. Most of the cost fields use 32 bits, so they can be in the range -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647, and those are about the only number fields that need a larger range of values. As for the bit expressions, I suggest you re-read the part of the Bible near the beginning where it says "A quick word about control bits and scripting in EV Nova."

Strange, I looked in the EV Nova bible and never saw anything about control bits.... I will reread it
