Hmmm, Well firstly, I'm back!
Now on for teh real question, I know lots of you make the "spins" for EV ships (about 36 different picts all at different angles) what do you use for this? how do you get it so accurate?
as always any and all help will be appreciated

I use Strata 3D (ewan's version, downloadable from his site, which is currently down) and Bryce 4 sometimes. As for making it exact, trial and error most of the time. I make it how I want it at 0 degrees, 90, 180, -90, and -10 (or so) degrees. Sometimes the design of the ship requires that I make more keyframes. The keyframes I use (of 108 -- I give my ships banking animations) are 0, 9, 18, 27, 35, etc. ( I believe this is correct) In EVN, spďns are used for weapon sprites, and the shän resource is used for ships, though you may be able to use the spďn resource for ships still (I'm not sure--never tried in EVN)

Spins or shans are The resources containing the id's of weap/spob graphics and ship graphics, respectively The sprites are stored as pict's if one is really lazy, though the proper way to do it is to convert them to RLED/RLE8's which are compressed formats that dont require a mask (Though they sometimes need a mask in order to be made - EnRLE (mac) requires it, but the upcoming EVNEW for windows will not)
And when you make the sprites, test them before you make tons of them - i have some graphics from a canceled TC where the sprites for the ships have incorrect angles - 36 frames, but the angles are what would be expected for like 37, so they jump at the end, and dont shoot quite where you think they would. -Az
Hmmm, Ok thank you, What if I wanted to make Spins (or whatever you want to call them) for a seperate game outside of EV. Is it still legal to use the programs you suggested? if so can i please have the links to their websites?

Anyway, it should be quite legal to use any program that you own (or is free) to make sprites.

I was mainly on the PoG and EV boards so you may not remember me, I vaguely remember you, and EVula, hmm or evula I have a feeling he gets angry if you put the wrong capitals.
Anyway, Surely the program would require a comercial license for me to sell teh game I made?

Well, I'm pretty sure that unless you have some sort of educational-version of the software, you should be able to sell original work that you made using it. I'm no lawyer though, so maybe somebody else could answer your specific question about legality.
