Well, I must say, I'm impressed. Polycon is great. It's got governments, weapons, ships, everything!

But, for my liking, there was too much. Programmers and mod-makers, I'm giving you the ultimate task.

Make a plugin with New planets, 10 or so new weapons (Including flamethrower. Not too many, mind you) 2 new governments, and totally new ships (not corny looking, maybe 3 or so) The new governments should be Vell-os and some creative one with a cool name. This should merge with the EVN universe. Make the Vell-os planets inhabited, and make them fight with Feds. That would get like 1 billion people on it like that, man. Call it something like "Vell-os Vengeance" or "Eternal Powers" or a really cool name anyway.

I could make that if I wanted to, but I'd much rather work on a plugin of my own idea rather than one that was roughly described by you.

The plugin you describe is a big undertaking, requiring dozens of hours of work at least. Aprosenf's EVN Windows editor should be available soon. You make it.

Not trying to be TOO scathing.... um, ultimate task? Excuse me? How can that be an ultimate task? I very much doubt that that is the pinnacle of plug-in making.....

What is exactly ultimate about this task?

A couple of hours work for the coding, and whatever it takes for the graphics. Seems more like a basic exercise for the new plug-in maker - something everyone would be advised to try before launching into yet another TC announcement, but not really innovative.

Try this ultimate task for size:

Create a story-line which is complete, compelling and entirely captivating that lasts no longer to play than a feature film takes to watch, and where the storyline is so good that players go and tell their friends the plot the next morning.

He doesn't mean you, he means what Martin said...

Reality: No one is going to make your plug. We get people all the time here who say "Hey wouldn't it be cool if..." and "Someone should..." and you know what? That person is never the one who said "Wouldn't..." in the first place. Basically if you want to have this very minor plug go ahead, my friend (it isn't an ultimate challenge at all, I think it's just you wanting a game expander for yourself) then you'll have to do it yourself. You can emulate res-edit with Basalisk II, I'm told, and if you want to go ahead with this yourself, I fully support you.

But no-one is going to go "Okay I will make that plug for you" from a vague description like this.
