conText/resStore for windows?

Would anyone happen to know if Dr. Ralph's conText/resStore is going to be ported to Windows? If not, is there anyone that is planning on making a compatible utility to take text files made by conText and spit out a .rez file.

I ask because it occurred to me that one could distribute the text file vs a mac and windows version of a plugin.

Aprosenf's EVNEW has this feature, but it doesnt seem to be compatable with files produced by ConText/ResStore. I thought he said he had made it compatable, too. fires off an email to him with a zipped sameple of conText output. I think it is just an issue of the order of the resources and dealing with ConText's adding of a file field and the headings at the top of resource types.
However, on distributing plugins as text files, why? Terek'E'Ban has demonstrated that it is possible to distribute plugs as zipped .bin files instead of .sit files, which eliminates that chance of stuffit raping the resource fork (since it wouldnt even be opened with stuffit), while still allowing mac's to open it properly, since they can easilly (automatically with stuffit, possibly) de-bin the files.
Actually - a plug distributed as zipped bins could be supplied with a .bat file that could automatically convert the files - eliminating any chance of human error! And an automatic generator for such batch files woulnt be hard to do!

I, for one, would love to see all the little EVN utilities integrated into a neat, tidy, reliable package and ported to Windows (preferably as an integral part of EVNEW). However, whether that happens is up to Apronsef (and his programming skill and time).

I think that's what he's doing...
EVNEW incorperares the core function of Novatools (editing relevant resources)
It has an integrated enRLE/DeRLE (doesnt have the sprites things that turn movies into sprite picts so they can be used or LASIK'ed, though. I think some work must be done on deciding what formats to use for such a system - the formats the origional mac sprites programs used propably arnt to useful for a pc user)
As I described above, it is almost a ConText/ResStore (and within the PC, it is)
As far as I can recall, that's all of them....

I'm working with Dr. Sutherland to bring all the w00tTools up to speed for Mac OS X 10.3, but there are no plans whatsoever for Windows ports. Sorry! They rely too heavily on Mac platform function calls, etc.

all the best,

Dave @ ATMOS

All we need is something to lay frames out in a grid.

A Flash application might be a solution. One .swf, a text based data files, a series of single frame images, flash player and maybe an html file. All it needs to do is look at the text files for the image paths and a few other bits of information and spit out the files in a grid.
I'll be asking on other forums about this one, as I have no idea how to get Flash to do that.

(edit: although, I appear to have lived up to the quote in my sig and bitten off more than I can chew)

As you've already surmised, Artanis, Flash isn't capable of doing what you're asking of it. Java might be.
