im finaly getting a mac so i can start making some mods for EV nova but i dont think i would be able to use my pc license code on it without A. it working at all or B. ambrosia getting upset that im using it for more than one copy. so does anyone know if you can modify the game files and not get hassled by any shareware enforcement out of game?
also can any of the experienced modders out there reccomend some progs for general editing (untill i learn resedit) making ships, planet grafics weapons so forth.

It is impossible to modify the game without registering. However, andrew has stated that he does not care if you use the same registration code on both machines, so long as you are not playing them both games at the same time. If your code is expired, I hear the monkeys will send you a new one promptly.
As for programs, ResEdit is quite the way to go for everything in general. However, there is also (url="http://"http://www.ariossoftware.com/")EVONE(/url), and exceptional System and Galaxy editor, (url="http://"http://davidarthur.evula.net/")Mission Computer(/url), designed towards missions, and also you could try a beta of (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/infernostudios/downloads/SpaceShip2.sit")SpaceShip(/url), an application I designed specifically to edit ships.
If you do indeed use ResEdit, be sure to get NovaTools as well. You can get that from the home page of (url="http://"http://www.ev-nova.net/")http://www.ev-nova.net/(/url) .

You can use the same liscense code on more than one computer as long as you dont use them both at the same time.
You cannot modify files or use plugins in the unreg version of EVN.
For general editing, i would never use anything other than resedit+novatools. If i was on a TC, i might go the whole plugin--ConText->Excel, make and edit resources in excel, then Excel->Text--ResStore-->plugin.

cool, thanks for the info also does anyone have a link to a player made resedit tutorial?
You could check the Add-ons section, there are several things in there. Also, you should read the bible, as well as my modified post above.

Yeah. Documentation > Nova Bible.
No, it's not player-made, but it is THE SINGLE MOST useful tutorial out there. (Okay, not actually a tute, but still the most useful thing for making plugs besides an editor)
