Weird Weapon Ranges

I made a side fireing only turret for my plugin, and ran into one problem. I made it fire just on screen(It doesnt go off screen). The graphics work fine. But say im fireing at a Leviathan, its off the screen by about 100 pixles, the dang weapon hits it! Its not supposed to do that. Can someone help me?

Reduce the count and/or speed of the weapon to decrease its range. How do you make a weapon fire on screen only? Unless I am mistaken, that cant be done...

I have the count and speed ok. Theres no picture passed where they are supposed to die. The way i got it to stay on screen was the Count and speed the right combonation.

Aaah, so you end up seeing the shot stop before it gets to the edge of the screen, but it still damages someone off screen?!

Well, the screen's not circular, so it's impossible to have it always stay exactly on the screen for all directions. You have two choices: make it short enough so that it dies when it just goes off the screen when fired vertically, in which case it will make it about 3/4 to the end of the screen when fired horizontally or diagonally, or make it long enough so that it dies when it just goes off the screen horizontally or diagonally, but it will go a little longer off the screen when fired vertically. I'm guessing you have the second case.

Dude. I have it so it stays on screen in all directions. The shot stops where it should, But any ship i target off screen gets hit by a invisable shot.

Aha! i found out why it was doing that. it was the Beam Length and Beam Width feilds.

Woah, waitaminute.... is this a beam? or a normal projectile weapon? If its the latter, then those fields should have no effect.... "undocumented feature" anyone?
