Plug Ideas

Okay, i am a plugin maker (like everyone else here) but doesnt have any good ideas... So im not having very much fun. So if anyone has any ideas for plugins that they think is good, but they dont know how to make, post them here. Other people could also use the ideas posted. Thanx

Instead of trying to make a new plug, maybe you could offer your services to others here with plugs already in progress. A lot of plugs become vaporware, but if people team up, they might have better success.

Ok, you want an idea for a plugin?

Here's a scenario for you.

You're a private detective and you've been commissioned to trace a girl. Unfortunately, at the far end of the galaxy, you've been mugged while tracing her, and your ship has been stripped of every outfit, while you've lost all the cash you had and your handgun. Your money is in a bank on Earth and you can't get it without going there. But you also don't have time to turn trader if you're going to follow the girl, and you definitely don't have time to go to Earth first and pick up your cash.

With a stripped down ship, then, you follow her from world to world, never quite catching sight of her, but often landing as she takes off. You piece together bits of her story, but your employer has kept you in the dark about who she really is and why he wants her traced.

You finally catch up with her at Earth. Thinking you have a little time you collect your cash, and then go to meet her - but you discover you've been set up because she's been shot with your gun (remember it was stolen at the beginning). Somehow you manage to get her to hospital, but she's in a coma. You disappear as the police show up. You try to get on the video-line to your employer, but he won't return your calls. So you track him down to another planet and go to meet him there - with the police on your tail. The planet won't let you land until you bribe your way in. As you land you are attacked again by muggers, but this time you are on your guard and manage to get away. You also notice a logo on the heel of the mugger's shoes - it's the same logo as appeared in the background when you did to talk to your employer.

You put two and two together and realise it was your employer who set you up. Returning to Earth you kidnap the girl from hospital she's just come out of the coma, and try to find out what she knows about what is going on. She tells you that she was hired to follow a particular route to Earth and then to meet a man with your name but not with your description. While she was waiting for you, she was shot. You show her a picture of your employer - same man.

Realising together that you have both been set up, you go in search of the truth.

And the truth is

Well, I'll leave you to fill that in for yourself.

I'd be interested to know what you make of it, if you decide to use this idea.

do a labrynth or and obstacle course in a system. Or do a space monster you could battle and disable (without blowing it up) and board it. On board you can get goodies like ivory, pearls, and other rare and valuble item. Maybe food (sapce monster meat or caviar), armor plates for ships, find another ship inside and free it for a reward; or more gruesome haul the carcase back to a port and convert it to a ship. Do a tiny little ship called the slingshot that has no engines or thrusters all they have are tractor beams and repulsor beams. They use them to latch on to something (ship, asteroid) and get pulled around the system with innertia they can lauch themselves about the system and jump through gates.

There's always the option of using the Nova preambles and creating plugin that plays out the Armetis group, Polaris civil war, and other such historic events that led up to Nova. I think that would be a cool plugin.

:eye pops out: Lord Tekk, you have been offered a possible idea by a god for EV and EVO Plug. Martin Turner made Frozen Heart and Femme Fatale. YOu must look into it.

Hmm, all very very good ideas. But i think i like the detective one But, i could also put a big giant space monster in the storyline Thanx everyone
EDIT -(the detective one sounds like a familiar movie...) i will do this after my new TC thats comin out
