Does it pay off to have more than 200 luck? How are the odds figured for getting certain items? Is it possible to have enough luck to have the Sea Giants consistantly drop the "Ring of Gods" or is this more of a random event? I have finished all of the main plugs but I don't want to quit yet. I'm having too much fun. I never thought any game could be as addictive as the EV series but this one sure got my attention.

There is no max to any stat that I'm aware of, but once your luck is over 150 or so its effects aren't all that noticeable.
If you have over 200 luck, then I'd recommend going towards dex/str/vitality.

I don't know of anyone who has pushed their luck over 200 but the items that a creature has are dropped at random. A high rating for luck will increase your chances of getting an item or more than one item, but there is no way of telling which items will be dropped if the creature's item list includes several items.
When I was at your point in the game, I increased my "fun level" by putting my sword back in its sheath and knocking the creatures out with my fist. There's a lot less blood on the battlefield that way and the challenge is still there. If you haven't done so already, try playing a new character. Ranger has some good possibilities and seems to be the one least explored at this point. Don't go too far away, there are more plugins coming. ~RD

The (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/rduck/")Kingdom of Garendall(/url) sectional map is easily printed from gif format pages. Find those areas you missed the first time around. You'll want to explore those hidden areas now made accessible with Spells Expander.
Thanks! You guys are fun to be around. I'm definitely in the fun stage of the game. I've played through all 3 characters to the max and right now I'm building up my strength level with the conjuror. I have gone bare fisted against the sea giants one on one and it's a blast. Now I am letting them chase me until I can get a group of four or five of them together and knocking down the group with the Staff of Lordship. I'm working on getting my strength up so I can take out the Guardian with one blow. I'm not going anywhere for a while. I'm looking forward to new plugs.
Maybe this should be a separate topic but how difficult is it to make plugs? I've dabbled with plugs for EV and that's pretty easy. With PoG I believe that Coldstone is required. I haven't tried that yet. I've been watching the Coldstone board and it seems that people find it very difficult. However most of them are trying to develop entirely new games. How hard is it to just do a plug for PoG?
I'll let you know if I achieve my goal with the Guardian. That should be worth some bragging rights.

There are some frustrating limitations, but for the most part plug-ins are not too difficult to create. As with anything, the larger your project, the more difficult it becomes.
If you are interested in giving it a whirl, I'd suggest downloading Coldstone and start dabbling. Snag yourself a copy of the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/show.pl?product=coldstone&category;=resources&display;=date&file;=PoG_Dev_Tools_Source.sit")PoG Dev Tools Source Code(/url) which will A) give you a nice resource when starting to create your game, and give you source code to look at for reference in how to do things.
Book mark the (url="http://"http://stark.evula.net/plugin_faq.htm")PoG Plug-in FAQ(/url) page and feel free to ask questions about it if you have them.
And if at any time you have any questions, no matter how "simple" or "stupid" they may appear to you, just go ahead and ask them. It is far quicker to ask than to spend countless hours frustrated because you can't figure something out. Besides which, we've probably all been stuck in the same places that you will get stuck on at some point.
One last word of wisdom: for your first plug-in or two, start small. Very small. Cut your teeth on a project that is very manageable and that you can use. From there you can use your new knowledge of Coldstone to build progressively larger plug-ins.
Good luck!

How hard is it? Actually it's easy until you want to do something out of the ordinary. Then you have to figure out how to do what the characters don't do in the game. If you have a story idea and just want to add in NPCs with dialogue, that part is simple. Altering PoG maps is time consuming but not hard to do. New maps can be fun too, but also take a lot of time to do well. I started with zero experience in this kind of thing and have had lots of help from the good people who hang out here.
Taking down the Guardian in one punch? Brag all you want, but you won't be the first. To guarantee a knockout you need strength of 2499 because your fist damage is 1 - 3. Go for it. ~RD

Then there will be two of us. Or do you know of others? (without cheating)
Well, not only do you need 2499 strenght, but 100 luck, so you are guarenteed to go right through his armor. When attacking, a random number is chosen from 1-100, if the number is less than or equal to your luck, you will do a critical strike (Critical strikes go right through armor), unless the guardian doesnt have armor...
