Yep, on mine too. Work just fine at work on a pc though. Hrmph.

Guess I'll pull out the 'old html book and attempt to figure out what the pc's don't
seem to mind but the macs freak out about.

Thanks for letting me know. I'd rather this gets fixed before I upload it. 🙂

well since you didnt go overboard or use some colorblind unfriendly text to background mix let me say the purrty version is fine but i also cant get the links to work ( i thought you were waiting till you finished before you added this feature, sorry, bad betatester, no donut)

another couple Misc items are the 'diadem of stone' given to you by the Mayor of Dernath post the Cyclops mission if you dont ask for a reward
and the 'tent' easily one of the best items in the game.

plus the side quest for the eye of the Cyclops isnt mentioned

and the secret of the Elven Bed is missing

Ah hah! I found it! Used #'s in my calling reference, and also in the names which
is a no-no. For some reason my pc at work overlooks this, but the mac doesn't quite know
what to do with it.

Made a quick document on my mac('cause I'm at home) and it works just fine. I won't
have the opportunity to fix it though until Monday when I am back at work. But I now
know how to fix it, and as G.I. Joe always said, "Knowing is half the battle! Yo JOE!"

Ah yes, forgot about those. I'll add them to the list. Also am adding your earlier
suggestions about including the ring of gods, ogre axe, and minotaur scythe. They are
sketched into the doc sitting on my work machine, just hasn't made it up onto the net
yet.

Again, look for a new version(mac-friendly!) to be posted on monday.

And until then, keep pouring in the bugs, errors, and suggestions. I appreciate the
feedback(good and bad).

You forgot a mission for the guards, the one where you need to go to Gwyden camp to get some workers to make the blockade better.

**

Just to let you know, I prefer the plain version as well.

Great job with the whole thing, I've finished the game twice, but there's still plenty of stuff I hadn't fround until I read this.

Spiffo.

The secret of the elven bed is the special dealy in Berglum. A lady there needs her bed
moved and her husband isn't around to do it(he's off hunting Ookwasps I think). If you
agree to move her bed for you then your health is restored(ala. a night in an inn).

Dagger of ferret? Hmm. I've had one of these, but I don't recall where I got one
either. Isn't that an item randomly dropped? I seem to recall it was dropped by
something easy like a goblin, but only very rarely. If anyone recalls who drops it
or where you are guarenteed to get one I'd be happy to include it in the list.

And as I posted yesterday, look for an update to be uploaded on Monday.

I think the Dagger of Ferret is just random, moderately powerful monsters have them sometimes. I don't think that they belong to anyone specific.

I've posted an updated version of the compendium. The two versions are at: (url="http://"http://www.avalon.net/~honda/pog/pogwalkthrough.htm")http://www.avalon.ne...walkthrough.htm(/url) (jazzed version) (url="http://"http://www.avalon.net/~honda/pog/pogwalkthroughplain.htm")http://www.avalon.ne...hroughplain.htm(/url) (plain version)

It has been a very busy day at work, so I only did some minor updating and not everything
that I intend to do has been done.

Amongst the diverse revisions to this update are:

Added: Rings of the gods to Misc section
Minotaur scythe to Misc section
Ogre axe to Misc section
Diadem of stone to Misc section
Cyclops eye mission to its own section

Fixed: Links should now work
Pink termite resort switched bonus from strength to life points
"All tunnels" secret grammer fixed

Changed: New logo on header

I'll most likely do some more revisions to it tomorrow and post another update with
more additions. I plan to include the dagger of ferret(anyone have more info yet?) and
better directions for the divine lamp. I also plan to run a spell checker over the
entire document(haven't done this yet).

As a final thought, I will continue to update both the jazzed and plain versions for now.
After I upload it as a finished product and I begin work on version 2.0 which is to
include compendium and walkthrough information on plug-ins, I will cease to support the
plain version in all likelyhood. It is just too much of a pain in the butt to continually
cut and paste info from one document to the other, and attempt to ensure all the info
in both documents are the same. I said I would do this for this version so I will. But
when it is finished I doubt there will be a plain 2.0 version.

Enjoy, comment, and critique at will.

Thanks

Again Great work!

a small note you cant buy the Diadem of Stone. It is not for sale anywhere in the game. You may be thinking of the Crown of Stone but the Diadem is only AC 17 the C of S is AC20 (i think)

As for the Dagger of the Ferret, I also am of the mind that it is a random drop by higher lvl monsters sorry i cant be more specific. It can come from Mages, Minotaurs, Sea Giants ect

also the Lilith Shield should be included as its the best sheild in the Game.

New update uploaded to my website. If this were a game I'd say it's in final candidate
mode now. So comment and critique away or lose your opportunity to get changes
incorporated. 🙂

From my revision log(which helps me keep both documents the same) for this update:

Quote

Added: dagger of ferret to Misc section
tent of decimus to Misc section
lilith shield to Misc section
reef's island - where is section

Fixed: Diadem of stone not purchaseable
Spelling & grammer checking tools run

Changed: knight's mission #4: added a blurb about getting decimus's tent after finishing
Capitalized "The Old Dwarf" in TOC for consistancy

(edit)Edited to fix a bad ubb code call(/edit)

What about the Termite Delivery Boy easter egg?

Well I had considered it, but had decided against it because I don't like dead-end
quests. But after your asking about it I've reconsidered. I figure I'd probably get
bombarded with emails saying, "Hey, I just found this termite guy and he isn't listed
in your compendium." And I don't want that, heh.

Anyhow, if memory serves, you buy the termites from the guy who lives 1S,1W of Fantrima,
right? Small house on the south end of the screen? Termites cost 100 gold, and if you
buy one the delivery guy can be found 1N of the Cyclops tunnel entrance? If this is
correct I'll upload the update including this later today.

Thanks

Great job on walk-through! One minor addition needs to be checked out. When I used the dagger of ferret my undead protection went up 20 pts. although this is not given in its description.

Mungo's Termite Farm
im thinking they cost 100 for a female and 175 for a male and i cant thnik of where the delivery guy is but its not 1N of the Cyclops tunnel entrance. i just looked.

oh and the 'tent' links arent working

one place you havent addressed is "Fungus's Hideaway" maybe add a section for it in the "where is"

also you may want to do the Seashells to aviod mass email

i would be willing to write them up if this is getting to be to time consuming

The termite delivery boy is on the same map as the mage tower...I +think* that's 1S 1W of the cyclops coast but I'm not sure about it. I'll check and post back/edit my message
