Because when you specify modtype 1, the modval points to a value in the wλap resource, and not the shοp resource. It's just your good luck that you got a bay. It's just as likely that you would have ended up creating a blaster outfit. In any rate, you have to create a Javelin bay in the wλap resource before you can create a Javelin bay outfit that you can buy. In the wλap resource, I think that a guidance of 99, and an ammotype of 175 will get you what you want.

thanks for the information but I think it doesn't function to create a Javelin Bay .
An other question : it is possible to use one outf in two plug-ins

Sure, it would be possible.. just copy the outf resource from one plugin into the second, and it would work fine. Technically, one plugin would override the other, but if they're the same, that wouldn't be an issue.

thought occurs If you mean use the same resource id, one of the plugins will be overridden, and that outfit won't appear in the game, having been replaced by the second plugin.

You should be able to create a Javelin bay- I'd offer some help, but looking through the Nova Bible I'm a little confused too.. Sorry!

Space Junkie, it would help if we could see your plugin, or would tell us what exactly you were trying to do so that we can help you with your specific problem.

Were you trying to make a Javelin Bay, or did I just misinterpret what you were asking?

Yes you are right . I'm triying to create a Javelin bay (and a Arrow bay). I already created a dart bay and this one functions really good so I copied the φόtf and changed the modtyp. Afterwards I copied the weap "create dart" and changed the ammo typ from 173 to 175 . can anybody say me where is my fault ? 😕

Here, I think, is the simplest way to do this:
Step 1: Create a new oόtf resource, giving it modtype 99 and modval 235.
Step 2: Fill in any other values for oόtf that are necessary (tech level, price, miscellaneous stuff..)
Step 3: Create a new wλap resource with ID number 235 (this is the first unused resource ID for weapons). Copy in the same information as was in "Create Dart", but change the ammo type (as you already did, I think) and change the speed to Javelin speed (unless, of course, you want sickeningly fast javelins scooting around..)
Step 4: Create another oόtf resource, giving it modtype 3 and modval 235. This will make an oόtf allowing you to purchase javelins for your javelin bay.
Step 5: Fill in any other necessary values for the oόtf.

Repeat for the arrow bay, but using 236 instead of 235 (since you need a new resource ID) and change the ammo type to the arrow.

I think the problem was that you didn't have an oόtf created for your weapon, which meant that although your weapon existed, there was no way for a player to get it, unless their ship automatically came with one (and I'm not even sure if that would work without an oόtf resource...).

Good luck!

I already made an outf for the bay and for the fighter but i tried for another and it didn't function.
It is possible that it doesn't function when my dart plug-in is in game ?

Only if there's a conflict between the resource IDs (that is, if the outfits have the same resource ID).

okay I send you the plug -in to your e-mail adress.

Well, I created the outfits and weapons for you, and they show up in the game and work, but for some reason I can't have more than one kind of bay, even if I set it so that I can have more than one bay at once. It may be a limitation regarding the fact that my test pilot is in a shuttlecraft, now that I think about it..

Anyway, if you look at the outfits and the weapons and then compare those settings with the Nova bible, you should be able to duplicate this next time you want to create a bay.. remember to add mass and raise the price! (Unless you were intending to cheat with them.. sigh..)

Have fun..
