Instead of landing pics in Nova can you substitute a fly by of part of the planet as the picture, or in this case movie?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that you'd have to set it up so that a movie pops up and plays every time you landed in order to do this. You can't just make the landing screen into a movie. And if I'm right, then it would get really annoying having to watch the same landing movie every time you landed somewhere.

It might be space intensive and a huge pain in @ss to make all the movies but if you dont want them to get anoying you can try to replace the image of the planet with a movie of a ship landign and taking off, or something like that. i think it might be a bit hard with the nova engine
I don't think you can display a movie in the place of the landing pict. it's a link to a PICT resource, and movies aren't. But there's a way to do that. An auto abording mission, which start on the planet you want, no recquirement, availRandom to 100%. This mission display a movie, has no text, and can't be refused. Here you have, a landing movie. Problem, it's displayed only one time on the planet. If you blast off and come back, you'll see it again, but that's all you can do.

That can become annoying for EVN Players if they have to see the landing movie over and over. I think you should make landing movies just for the planets that you will land on in all of the storylines plus the minor missions.
Can't you skip the movie by clicking on the screen ? And it could be a lot of work and space, having so much movies...

As long as you don't mind using ncbs to control landing movies - make the auto-aborting mission set a bit that stops it from playing again. That way it'd only play once, yet can be triggered by other things.

'course. But my idea was for a movie which appear each time you land on a planet. You would be true if the movie was activated by an event.

Hopefully (assuming I can find someone to do it.) Factions will have two extra movies... i was hoping to put a movie clip at the end of each of the two major strings. But since no one in the current team can make movies (and I'm not talking spinning ships I'm talking serious stuff here), I may just have to use a picture instead.

That is one good idea to use for the TCs. I don't know what I was thinking/
The TNJO (see sig) TC will have (optional) movies on alot of major missions... no further info at this time.
