I have a question about the cargo str#'s. The Nova Bible says that to change the "food" to something else, make a res ID of 9000 and type what you want. But how do I make it affect only one mission. Or could I make a STR# so that it changes a different cargo, one that i won't use in my plug, if so, what would I have to make the res. ID, to modify other cargos? Does anyone understand me? My other question: I was using ResEdit, and I set some BBS missions to kill different ships (like the Bounty Hunter missions) and I set the "ship syst" to "ajacent to specific syst" but when i looked at the plug with Mission computer, the "ship syst" showed up as "initial system", and when I played the plug, the <dsy> in the briefings showed up a initial system. So I deleted Mission Computer off the computer, will that fix anythin? And in my briefings, <sn> dissipeared from the text, what's wrong there? Thanks for all your help.

First of all, you want to create a 'STR ' resource, not a 'STR#'. Second, the ID is 9000 to change the first cargo type (food). To change the second cargo type, use ID 9001, and 9002 for the third, and so on. You can even go above the number of cargo types present in EV Nova, so as to create a new type without overwriting an old one.
I was using ResEdit, and I set some BBS missions to kill different ships (like the Bounty Hunter missions) and I set the "ship syst" to "ajacent to specific syst" but when i looked at the plug with Mission computer, the "ship syst" showed up as "initial system", and when I played the plug, the <dsy> in the briefings showed up a initial system. Uh, no, deleting MissionComputer won't change your plug-in in the slightest - MissionComputer is just an editor, it doesn't effect files by its mere existence.
However, looking at what you've tried to do, it looks like NovaTools supports an additional ShipSyst type that doesn't seem to be listed in the Nova Bible. I'll have to check whether it actually works (it's hard to tell whether it's NovaTools or the Bible that's actually correct without testing it), and add it to MissionComputer if it does. In the mean time, you'll have to set the special ship system using NovaTools.
And in my briefings, <sn> dissipeared from the text, what's wrong there?
Do you mean it disappeared from your dësc resources, or it isn't working in the game. If it's the former, I have no idea how that could happen, short of you deleting it, but if it's the latter, then what dëscs are you using it in? <SN> doesn't work in the initial asking dialog, only in the ones that follow.

I'd recommend not using STR but rather create a new cargo in the existing STR# by simply adding a new item number to the end of the list. This way you can use it as many times as you want. Just be sure to edit all three cargo STR# resources. The first (4000) is the actual name of the cargo. The second (4001) is the lowercase name of the cargo (this could be the third though, but it's whichever one says LC in the title). And the third (4003) is the abbreviated name that will appear on the ship's status display when the cargo is loaded. Note that I'm not entirely sure on those resource ID numbers and that adding an astrick (sp?) in front of any cargo name makes it quantityless.

Also, with mission computer, it did something weird, everything below 'str#' got deleted. So now I can't make any weapons, ranks, and whatever else, with Mission Computer. It happened on 2 computers that I had MC on. Does anyone know anything about that?

Sounds like something happened to your MissionComputer plug-ins - some resources, weapons and ranks being among them, are handled by the plug-in files in your MissionComputer Plug-ins folder. Check that the folder 'MissionComputer Plug-ins' exists, is in the same folder as MissionComputer, and contains the files 'Escape Velocity Templates', 'EV Override Templates', and 'EV Nova Templates'.
