My ships so far:
Ghoul: The fighter craft of the Ancients (the forementioned energy beings). This ship has plenty of shields, but almost no armor. It is laid out to be a dangerous adversary, since the ancients are the fewest in numbers of all the factions in our universe. Its only weapon is the potent Scalpel beam. Rudimentary statistics: Shields: 110 Armor: 7 Speed: 475 Accel: Very Good Turn: Exellent

Legion Missile Frigate:
This ship is the combat support craft of the Legion (the army of our human faction). Its role is to stay happily back while blasting the enemy to shreds, because after a taste of flame from its three missile types and a pummeling from its Artillery Cannon the other fighters of the Legion will have a better chance of killing the others with their lasers. It mounts two point-defense Flack Cannons to protect against fighters, but it is a crappy close assault vehicle and should never leave a port without escort from other combat vessels. It also handles like a drugged sloth. Rudimentary statistics: Shields: 300 Armor: 60 Speed: 300 Accel: Average Turn: Average Weapons: 75 weak long range missiles 10 powerful short range missiles 3 EMP missiles (ionization, little damage) 1 Whirlwind Artillery Cannon 2 Flak cannons

Dougy_N is working on a shän resource for the Ghoul, but the LMFrigate is still just in development. Constructive critics is welcome and so is suggestions on how to keep the LMFrigate out of close combat. I plan that the frigate will "open up" when using its artillery cannon so that it will pop out of the... Ehm tell me if you want the concept pictures of these ships and see for yourselves

Summary:
Govts:
Ancients: These beings are the most technologically advanced of all the Factions. Their ships are force-fields created and sustained by small generators and move by catching particles which are propelled backwards trough the rear substance of the vessels. They hate physical weakness and it is not uncommon that Ancients fallen in dishonor is sent out in deep-space pods to die. Their life-force is contained in the sacred and feared planet Forcepoint, a planet older than the galaxy itself. Forcepoint is a warped and withered vision with afterimages of dead beings, searing plasma storms and warpspace maelstroms. Its four moons help to channel and purify the energy created, and the system is only accessible by the means of warpspace travel from X-1, the homeworld of the Ancients. Savage infighting between the different warrior bands is not unusual.
(All of the Ancient systems are indicated by X and a number, their military strongholds are indicated by a P and a number.)
Legion of United Planets
The most well-known human military organization in the galaxy. Founded by the Federation of United Planets when ailien hostile activity was discovered, this well-funded and -organized yet incredibly rag-tag army keeps systems towards the border of Human Space safe. They also do strike missions, towards teh N'elian border worlds (okay for you Zerak?) whilst Federation Of United Planets '(FUP) internal peacekeeping forces halndle the core worlds.

Ships: ------------ Blade The Ancients' counter to other faction's assault fighters. This horrible, ghastly vessel mounts twin pulse cannons to overwhelm its foe in wave after wave of white-hot disruption pulses. It also has internal thermal energy- and particle shielding to protect against the dangers of space and the immense heat generated by the pulse cannons. The several warrior bands find the idea of storming headlong into the enemy ranks spewing death from the fearsome looking guns of this craft quite attractive, and the Blade is no rare sight.

Weapons: ------------- Disruption Pulse Cannon Several magnethic forcefields are used to pin a antimatter charge in place between two psuedoelectronic conduits, where the antimatter is charged up with radiative electric energy until it is released by the forcefields and flutter out of the rather huge guns' barrel. The resulting pulse impacts with its target in more than 700 KPS and the antimatter disintegrates the armor and particle shields of the target. The shockwave sends charged ions into the systems of the target, which cripples sensors and navigation systems. This weapon is one of the most fearsome direct energy wapons ever invented, but the price and mass required to install this enourmus launcher and its thermal shielding systems scare away buyers like the weapon itself scares away foes.
