I'm doing some audio effects (and otherwise) for a Nova plug-in, and came across a few problems. Here are some things I don't know and would like to find out:
What sample rate is Nova FX in / does it support? I've fiddled with some of the Nova files, and found some in 22050 and some in 11025Hz. I do know they're all 16-bit mono.
Persuant to the above, does anyone know of a program that lets me export audio in something other then 44100Hz? Or a program which converts 44100 down to 22050/11025 without pitch shift?
As well, what bitrates and sample frequencies are supported for the main title music?

I could be mistaken, but I think that you can use any sample frequency/bitrate supported by Quicktime. Nova Music is just an mp3 file, and I think any valid 'snd ' will work for FX.

I hope you're right - that would be VERY nice for me.
Gage goes off and tests the theory
oh - one other question - does anyone have a program that will resource code an audio file (i.e. from .aiff to .a?)

QuickTime Pro, perhaps?

As far as I know, it doesn't. I checked out Sound Convertor, which apparently does the job, but it won't run on my system for some odd reason.
I believe Nova will use any mono sound resource.
SoundEffects 0.9.2 (the latest), which only run in OS 9, has a "resample" command among other effects.

a) an AIFF file has no resource fork, only a data fork. I need something to convert it to something that DOES have a resource fork (like .a)
As far as I've been told, SoundEffects was dead - is there a place I can get it?

Well, specifically, it must be a System 7 sound, which is stored in a resource. SoundEffects can open and save both AIFFs and System 7 sounds, I believe.
