Tip for young players

EV Nova plug-in development should only be undertaken if you have plenty of free time. Here are some fundamental rules to remember:

  • Never commit to something you can't do.

  • If you're going to work with other people, don't screw them over by not working.

Remember those points, and you'll be fine. Trust me, I know whereof I talk on this one.

Absolutely. Take it from someone who knows (thats pipeline, not necessarily me).

Yeah , you guys however had the advantage of being able to meet each other in person. That helps alot. I've put all my projects on hold for the momenet due to a lack of free time.

It's also the biggest disadvantage. I nearly lost all my good friends. I'm very grateful I moved on my retirement and resignation when I did, otherwise I would have hurt a lot more people a lot more than I did.

For example, Bomb has an incredible idea for a TC for Nova, and I pulled out at the last second. That hurt a lot, but can you imagine how bad it would have been if I'd pulled out in four months from now? (shudder)

It wasn't a decision I'm totally happy with, but I am sure it could have been a hell of a lot worse.

So the final word, people, is to keep it fun!! If it's not fun, it's not on.

all the best,

Dave

Another piece of advice- don't write a preamble then submit it to the chronicles. - by the time EVula passes it on, the plug-in will either be done, or cancelled. 😛

But seriously though, we woulda ruled all, but it didn't work out. Such is life, right?

Uncle Twitchy, yes it was the TC that he was working on.

Oh, and never set a release date 🙂

But seriously, Pipe is right. The one thing I hold myself to is if I commit to a project with other pepole, it has top priority. It's one thing to let myself down. It's something different entirely to let down people I'm working with. In fact, that's one of the reasons that my TC went dead. I apparently have 8 writers on staff. I have got nothing from any of them.
