You can use Photoshop to make masks. Use the "Magic Wand" tool to select the black areas of your sprite, then Select menu... invert selection, and Edit... Fill (white).

Ithanks. I might make a plugin for Photoshop that does that sometime.

Why would you need a plugin? As Vamnou says, set background to white, magic wand the black (important that anti-aliasing is off), invert the selection (cmd + shift + i), press delete.

You can also do it on the cheap with graphic converter if you don't have photoshop.

I think it's exactly the same process. If anyone asks, I'll look into it.

I used to do it in ClarisWorks, before it became AppleWorks.

You can also just drag your QT sprite movie files or a folder of PICT frames into one of the NovaTools (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/dl-redirect.pl/Sprites.sit?path=evn/utilities&file;=Sprites.sit")Sprites(/url) files... it will do the masks for you (and does a fairly good job).

It works just fine for EV and Override graphics too.
