EVN plugin idea

could somebody make a cheat plugin that allows for infinite number of marine platoons on your ship without them weighing anything?

Yeah, we could.... but I don't think we will.

My recommendation is that you download Novatools and the Bible, and try doing it yourself. Making cheat plugs is one way to get your feet wet developing. If you have any questions about HOW to do it once you have those tools, come on back and we'll break our necks trying to help you out.

But for the love of all that's holy, don't post it to the add-ons page when you're done with it. Kapeesh?

There are so many better ideas for cheat plug-ins than that one. Trust me, if you learn how to do these sort of things yourself, you'll be much happier and creative in your cheating.

We could, but there's no point. Even if you had a thousand marine platoon's you still can't raise your capture odd's to any more than 75%. I think there is a plug allready on the addon's page that changes every outfit's mass to 0.

Actually, if you raise your crew too high (32767, I think), the number will roll over to 0.

I think it's actually negative numbers.

Well, perhaps it really is zero, but if that were the case, wouldn't it go up to about twice that number before turning over?

I know that shield regen goes to negatives, and I remember that in the SW2 plug, if you captured too many Star Destroyers or something, your capture odds would drop to 0%.

Same thing happens with the CompGovt/CompReward fields. I recently tried adding 32567 as the comp reward, and after doing this twice, I was a fugitive. It got quite strage....

It does make sense, however, considering that in a short there is two bytes, the first one is positive from 0 to 32767. Adding one more enters the negative half, starting with -1, then up to -32767. Once it gets there (FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF), and adds one more, it tries to go to (1 0000 0000 0000 0000), which is truncated to 0000 0000 0000 0000.

Whoa! That's not quite right. A short is two bytes long. That would make it "FFFF", not "FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF". The latter would be a 64-bit number. Maybe you meant this to be binary, but "F" is hexidecimal. In hexidecimal every digit represents 4 bits. So 16 hexidecimal digits * 4 = 64 bits.
