Wecome to the boards. Just a tip, this isn't a chat room. Posts will not be responded to in a matter of seconds. You check on your post over a few hours/days to see what has been posted. To answer your question, I believe you would use some sort of graphics program to draw the planet. You should wait for better advice though, as I really don't know much about what programs you should use. You could also try searching the board for things like "making planets"

If you don't want to pay for a decent program, you can download Strata, an easy to learn, free program. It's quite good at simple tasks like rendering and stuff, but to make a texture for your planet, you'll probably need Photoshop. Photoshop isn't free and I have no idea where to download it, but you can get Strata and some excellent tutorials at (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/ewan/")http://www.evula.org/ewan/(/url) . This, however, is not exactly the board to be discussing this stuff. If you post in the EV image gallery or the Just Pics board. You'll get more feedback from more experienced guys than me ;).

I'm not sure what format Nova keeps the planet pics in, but i think you will need to use one of the Nova utilities (go to the addons page) to make it the proper format. If you are using EV/O it is just a pic. Copy it into the plug and then open the spob in question and enter the graphics ID number in the spobs graphics box.

Nova planets are stored in the same RLE format that ships are. EnRLE can be used to make a planet "real" for the game.
