error in recipe text

We found an error in the recipe text for the luck potion. The text in the book specifies "healing infusion", but this does not work. We looked in the source code and found it lists "healing potion" as a requirement. Sure enough, you can mix the recipe if you have healing potions and do not have any healing infusions. Who do we contact about a bug fix?

Actually, it's not a bug. A bug is something that makes the game not work right. It is a mistake, and there are many of them in the writing of the game. There are typos, and words and names spelled wrong, and bad grammar. You're right, you found an error and there is not much that you can do about it. Read (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum61/HTML/001189.html")this thread(/url) starting about half way down with Glenn's comments on the beta testing of PoG. Somebody, somewhere, just doesn't care. I'm sorry about that because some of us do care.

And the error I mentioned is one of those: you can not make the potion with the ingredients it specifies.

I found the thread mentioned, but did not see any mention of this particular problem, thus the new post.

As nice as the offer is, unless someone who has access to the code is willing to make the corrections it won't amount to anything.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, just telling you the facts of life. The beta testers submitted plenty of typo reports but the game was released with the typos left in(and I'm using typos in a generic sense, ie. mispellings, grammer problems, etc). We've also had 2 updates since the game was released and the typos are still around.

The problem doesn't seem to be a lack of reporting the errors, unfortunately.

Actually, I was referring more to the projects you're working on, or other similar plug-ins. OTOH, Trinity source code is available... I haven't looked at it yet; are any of the garbled speeches in there?

Most plug-in authors worth a salt have testers look at their plug-ins prior to releasing them, so they will be fairly accurate(a mistake here and there will sometimes creep in though).

Not to my recollection. But Trinity doesn't really add much of anything quest/speech wise. You have the heads of the different guilds and a couple extras, but thats about it.

Trinity does add Swordsman, Ranger, and Conjurer, however, so the bug that Axe brought up (ok, I'll admit it's a bug even though I considered it a mistake in text) would be in the definitions there. It's true that most of the text problems, and certainly the blatant ones, occur in PoG itself.

Axe: I certainly did not intend to belittle your discovery. It is the first time that I know of where this particular error was mentioned. I applaud you for posting it. I think my initial response was triggered by the frustration that I, and others, feel about the correction of these mistakes.

Axe: Heh. I have a list of Trinity bugs ranging from inconsequential to, in my opinion, fairly severe.

The worst, in my opinion, is the ranger shape shifting potion bugs where the player can get stuck in the new form without a way to change back. It can be fixed with a plug-in, but unfortunately that is the only way.
