Various maximums

What's the maximum number of cröns, chärs, and spďns available to plugin makers? The game constant section of the Nova Bible doesn't say. Also mentioned in the same section was a maximum number of Stellar Classes. What are these?

Not all who wander are lost.

The stellar classes means how many different types of stellars you can have. You might have a green moon and a blue moon, and those take up two stellar classes. Add a yellow gas giant and a brown planet, and you have four, and are well within the limit.

By experimentation I've found that the maximum number of cröns is 512.
I don't know about maximum chärs, but it's not really a critical resource, vis a' vis limitations, in my opinion. Experimentation would be the best way to find the maximum chär.
I believe "Stellar Classes" are spďns, which means a maximum of 256 spďns.

I don't think that stellar classes are spins. In EVN, spins are used to hold sprite data for weapons, planets, stations, wormholes, jump portals, etc. In EV and EVO, spins are also used for ships. I'm not really sure what stellar classes are, but I'm pretty sure that they aren't spins.

A stellar class is the combination of a spin (along with the sprite and mask PICTs or RLEs, of course), a landing picture, and a string (found either in the game's STR# resource or in a STR patch resource) containing the class name (ie. Class M Planet).

Truth! Justice! Freedom! And A Hard-Boiled Egg!

And indeed, if one looks at the spöb resource definition in the EVN Bible you'll see that the Graphic field has a 0 through 255 spďn RID range which corresponds to the Stellar Class maximum shown in the Constants section of the bible.

There is a maximum of 128 chär resources. If you need that many, please seek professional help.

More than that. I made a plug that made every single ship a char, and they all worked.

Not everybody can follow instructions. Not everybody likes JavaScript

Well, that kinda sucks that you can have 2048 spöbs, but only 256 different ones. Thanks for the other info too, guys. I really needed to know how many cröns I could use.
