Forced pers

So I'm wondering if it's possible to make a pers ship appear at a specific time in a specific system without making it a special mission ship? I got it worked out so that a ship should only activate when certain mission bits are set. Then I have the system set up to show that pers ship 100% of the time. But this didn't work. I also noticed in the Nova Bible that pers only have a 5% chance of appearing. What's this 5% come from? If I set the pers to appear 100% of the time in a specific system does this mean that it will only show up 5%? Or does the 5% refer to dude type instead? Do I need to include the dude type in the system as well? I want to be positive that if a dude appears, it is the pers ship and not just a normal AI ship.

Ack, too many questions. Or, another alternative... is it possible to cause a pers ship to show up as a mission ship. The reason behind all this is that you have to recieve a mission from a specific ship at a very specific time. I was hoping that the tutorial derelict or the derelict cruiser in Kont would give me some answers but these are both mission ships.

In the systems field I do believe that is give a list for 4 (???) pers, right? Try just putting in your pers in all 4....that might do that trick cause it has to show a pers, right?

There is a 5% chance that a përs will show up whether or not it is listed in the s˙st resource. përs resources listed in the s˙st resource will show up based on the probabilities you enter there. Also, please note that for your përs to appear at all, it must have existed when you created your pilot file; otherwise, Nova considers it "dead" and does not show it.

Also, you could try using crön resc's to do it. I have very limited exp. with them but from it sounds like this is a perfect use for them because of your specific time.

Ohhh. Well that might be the problem. Crap. I've even changed the pers ID a couple times trying to get this to work. The closest I got was accidently making Stephen Chick appear  Well, thanks for the insight David. Very much appreciated, as always.

Thanks Zerek, but it's not acually game time related. It's one of those "the moment you complete a mission, the next one is available" type things.

My advice is to intentionally make a standard pers show up, like Steven Chick. Once you can consistenly force him to be there, just use the same method for your pers, with the knowledge that it has to be there when the file is created.
