I was just wondering, how hard is it to produce decent images on Adobe photoshop? would it take me ages to learn? Has anyone got any examples of Nova related Photoshop images that I could look at? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

What sort of images would you like to make?

Photoshop is the standard graphic editing tool for a reason. It's very good at creating and editing images. But it's main funtion lies in editing and image manipulation. Otherwise creating images from scratch can be very time consuming and difficult. (Unless, you like making pixelated style pictures) Most people (like myself) use a Photoshop/Illustrator combination for creating graphics. If you're looking to make realistic 3D renderings you're going to be in for a challange. It's certainly possible - it is Photoshop after all. But you'll have much better luck, not to mention faster results, with a program specifically made for 3D.
(edit) as an afterthought, the only thing I've used Photoshop for in regards to Nova is creating interface graphics, making shipyard pics, and just general editing and manipulation of already created images. (/edit)

I was thinking about the images that you see when you land on a planet (i dont know the technical terms) can you use photoshop for that?

Most certainly can be done but getting the same 3D effect is difficult and very time comsuming.

Strata, Bryce, Lightwave, PovRay, Mechanisto (sp?), etc.
Run a search on the boards. This has come up numerous times before.
