Can this be done?

Well, here is my minor problem...

Is there a way to have the correct thumbnail from the second screenshot and the desired large picture from the first screenshot?

I went through this same problem porting Polycon, and I could not figure out any way around it, though I tried getting a small ship matrix from an older version of EV to work in Nova. I ended up having to rerender all of the shipyard graphics.

You could change the DITL (#1004) to make the large pict the same size as in the first one, and replace the background picture with the one you have there. That should do the trick. The DITL is in the Nova application, but I recall being able to change it with a plugin. The picture is number 8501.

Because Nova automatically creates the thumbnails on the fly, there is no way to have two separate pictures.

As SpacePirate said, changing the DITL (or is it DLOG? can never remember) should work. I remember in EV/O, you could change that by copying it into a plugin. I successfully upped the shipyard pic size in EV/O to 200x200 that way...so in EVN it should be possible to reduce it to 100x100.

All you have to do (besides changing the background pic) is change the size of the field in the resource.
