awesome. the only problem I came across was that when I changed a system's info, and saved it, it moved the system to the center of the screen, instead of leaving it where it was.

Explain, I don't quite understand what happened. Did you save it by closing the editor? And then when you opened it again had the position not been saved? You have to hit return or tab to make a value "stick".

That is somewhat annoying.

I have a unique idea to add to your EVONE, (that is unless you have already implimented it) a special feature editor that allows developers to design interface layout on the main title screen on all EV series. Like make a basic template of somekind or another showing where stuff will animate and where the about button area is that shows you the scrolling credits and stuff.
Making the title screen for EVOSI was a $&#

Making the title screen for EVOSI was a $**# because even after tweaking and adjustments, the animated button bars are still somewhat out of alignment.
Believe it or not, that was one of the first editors ever planned, in the summer of 2001. It is definitely on the list, and will be developed when I get a chance.
No matter what I have in the data folder or what I'm editing, every time I try to go into galaxy I get an error type 3 and it unexpectedly quits. I'm running a 333 iMac with OS 9.1.

Okay, I set about testing this nifty new program, mostly because Mission Computer lacks a syst editor (graphical or otherwise) at this time and I hate booting up Classic to run NovaTools. So I set about creating the syst resources in EVONE, and stumbled upon something extremely frustrating. When you tell it to create a new resource it does not automatically set the cursor(I don't remember the word for this, but I know it is a simple fix in the Interface Editor) in the the Resource ID field. If you could fix that it would be much appreciated, since clicking on it everytime when you are attempting to make a hundred or more systs is kinda frustrating.
Also, if you could do away with the need for the checkbox in the Custom name block it would be appreciated. Most systems will have names, so having to click the box, and then get to type is also irritating. Just set it so that a null value in that box is the same as having the checkbox unclicked.

A few more things that I think need changing:
Make the boxes remember when they have been moved. For instance I moved the "Get Info" box. After closing it and reopening it, it was once again in my way and had to be moved again.
The "Get Info" box, once unselected, cannot be reselected. You have to close it and reopen it.
The "Get Info" box also need to have the first box set to automaitcally be active. As it stands you cannot even tab to get it active, you must click. Very irritating.
I think this has already been mentioned, but I cannot stress enough how irritating it is to have to hit enter or tab to have EVONE recognize a change. I guess I can live with it if it is extremely difficult to make it otherwise, but it is VERY frustrating to type some hard to spell word (like Ophiuchi) and then have it forget it because you didn't hit return.
In case nonoe noticed, I have a distaste for the "edit" button.
The object name in the "Galaxy" graphical editor and the custom name of the reosurce do not seem to communicate. However, once the system is opened for adding spobs and editing dudes, the custom name will appear at the top of the window. If the name is changed in the "Galaxy" graphical editor, it does not change set the custom name in the resource.
Despite the beuty of the graphical editors, ( and I must say that I like the way they look, especially the in system editor), these issues are enough to make me not use EVONE, at least not until they are fixed. I need to feel comfortable that the data entered on one screen will be shared with the rest of the program, so that I don't have to reenter a thousand data points.
Please keep me informed of when these issues are corrected. If you want me to beta test, email me and I will certainly do my best to break it some more.

Ditto with the Find System dialogue box.

My guess is it is systemic throughout the enire program. I would suggest the ArioSW check every window to make sure that every window has a view set as the initalFirstResponder.

It is wirtten in Carbon C - where it is surprisingly difficult (still easy, but more difficult than one would hope) to set the field that first gets focus.
The above have been posted on the Arios forums and are being dealt with. Please post all future comments/questions/suggestions about EVONE on those forums at: (url="http://"http://forums.ariossoftware.com")http://forums.ariossoftware.com(/url)

I saved the plug with various syst resources created (on the order of 25 or so) and only two created in the graphical galaxy editor. I saved both as I closed the file, but it only retained one syst. I checked it first in ResEdit to see if it was saving properly, noticed that only one syst existed (which it said was unnamed) and then opened it in EVONE to check if it was just not saving it in a way ResEdit recognized. There was again only one syst, but EVONE considered it to be named.
System specs in case it matters: 400MHz G3 iMac with 320MB of RAM running OS 10.2.3

As I said above, post on the Arios forums and it will be looked into. It has worked perfectly for all of the testers, so there may be something strange in your setup.
I don't mean to sound rude - I am simply trying to congregate all reports in one place. My post two posts above was meant to be the end of this topic.

In short, draw another link between the two systems and any existing one will be removed. If one does not exist, one will be created.
