Hyperspace Time

I've seen a few plug-ins that modify the time it takes to go through hyperspace (real time, not game time) and I can't figure out how to do this. Does anyone know?
Secondly, is it possible to change the transparency of cloaked ships with a plug-in?

------------------

I think I know the answer to the first question. The plug-ins you are mentioning weer for EV and EVO I'm guessing. All they did was modify the length of the hyperspace sound. I don't think this works for EVN

------------------

No, they were for EV:N.
See EVNUltraWarp and FastWarp at (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/show.pl?product=evn&category;=plugins&display;=name&page;=2")http://www.ambrosias...lay=name&page=2(/url)

------------------

Oh... well they also work by reducing the warp sound length... hope that helps

That may be so, but in any case, it doesn't matter that much, since EV Nova finally made it so that the Caps Lock speed doubler works while jumping.

Thanks. 🙂

How about question 2?

I don't believe so.

Second question first: I think AAC did this for the Kestrel. Couldn't tell you the process though - I'm guessing he modified the actual images so that's not exactly helpful - but it can be done 🙂

For the first question, there's the fast jump / semi-fast jump options in NovaTools. I think it also just has to depend on mass. Aside from game time, it seems that bigger ships take longer to jump in real time.

I used to jog but the ice kept falling out of my glass.

My guess is that was done simply by making the ship's actual sprites lighter.

Drat, that sucks. All well.
Because I can't even see half the ships when they're cloaked. Can anyone else?

Are these Nova's ships you're talking about? They should all work fine; have you tried adjusting your monitor's brightenss, contrast, and gamma?

iMacs are notorius for severe gamma problems. AAC, myself, and a few others are forced to suffer through this. I can't even see the ship blueprint background on the Nova board.

Not all who wander are lost.

Have you tried changing the background cloak colour? I know you could do that with EV Classic, so I assume you can still do it (to be honest I haven't played with the cloaking very much in Nova).

In EV Nova, cloaking works by making your ship's sprites semi-transparent, rather than colour-casting the screen like in Escape Velocity and EV Override.

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on much lately. This is in Nova, with a 9600, a Twinturbo 128 (or something) graphics card, and an Apple 17? inch display that's really old. Brightness and contrast are both maxed out, I'm not sure about Gamma, and all my other games look completely normal.
