Working on an extremely small plug (see (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/postdisplay.cgi?forum=Forum9&topic;=003621")Making ships...(/url)), I've got a ship with RID 412, and the corresponding scenic 600x400 pic set up properly as far as I can tell, with RID 20412 (the rule being 20128+idx). However, it does not show up in-game.
The target and shipyard images show just fine.
Does anyone know what's going on? Some kind of maximum-resource-ID bug, or am I missing something?
I can post the plug if it would be helpful. It's just irking me...this is the last and only thing not finished with it.

I'm not absolutely sure, but I got the impression back in beta that the 600x400 picture was controlled not by its ID number, but by the 'Graphic' field in the ship's dësc resource.

Aha... Thanks. I didn't even notice it was there.
Somehow my mind didn't make the connection between graphic-in-info-dialog and RID-field-in-description-resource.

It was done (I believe) to avoid having to repeat the same pic in case there were different levels of ships (as there are in Nova). This way, you could have 5 or 10 different ships pointed to the same 600x400 picture without having to have it 10 times in the graphics files. Very useful for having vessels of the same type with minor differences..

Exactly. A repeated 600x400 picture gives a much bigger file size hit than one of the old games' 100x100 shipyard PICTs.

See, I was at least paying attention during beta testing, if not actively participating..
