Weap/Ouft question

I'm trying to make an outf for a weap (a fighter bay) that's also an asteriod scoop and a reactor. My question is, if I just enter the weap resID in the ship resource's weapons field, will it count for all those things? Or will I have to enter it again in the ship's outfits field?

Okay, I'm assuming you've made the weapon and the outfit to go with it (big trouble if you haven't!).

I'm pretty sure that you just give the ship the weapon.

If you just give the ship the weapon, I don't know what happens. Instead, just give it the outfit.

I don't think that Nova deals well with combinations of weapons and something else.

One other thing that would be cool to do would be to make a weapon that came with ammo. The question is, can you still sell the outfit if you use up the ammo...?

This is how I understand it to be:

You can have an outfit which combines several outfit options (eg effects acceleration and cargo space).
You can combine up to 4 or 5 different outfit options in any one outfit.
You can combine a weapon/ammo with other options (the example in the bible is a weapon which reduces turning speed I think), however you have to define the weapon/ammo as the first outfit option.
Every weapon needs an outfit associated with it. If it doesn't, when you land Nova goes a little mental.

So, I'm pretty certain that if you make a weapon, define it's outfit as having more than one effect and then give a ship that weapon , then the ship is effected by the rest of the outfit. You can't, however, combine a weapon with ammo (although it would be cool if you could have a weapon which you could also shot out of your ship at people).

Test it out to see if it works (I am currently not in a position to do so). It should work, but test it to be sure.
