Finally, I got to work on a plug-and it worked! Yay!
Anyway, here are my questions, and a description of the plug:
Plugin
Name : (need suggestions) Err..it's a little in the developement stages. It's going to impletement the multiple chär feature. There's the standard one, the 'trader'. I'am also going to add a few.....one for each gövt, and a few extras. I may do it in parts. The one that I'm working on now is the Polaris one. You(the pilot) are a Manta with enhanced NI and such. You're a little different(stat modifications), and you can change 'bodies', by going into other ships later in the string. There's going to be new systems, too. A lot.
Stuff Needing Help
Somebody to help work on it. I'll need a writer, possibly a grahics guy/girl, and a programmer with decent expierience. E-mail me about it.
I 'fixed' the Polaris hypergates by making them able to use. The Kel'Airly and Nil'arKeymora ones keep opening and opening instead of just opening and waiting when a cömp ship tries to go through. What's going on?
What exactly do the contribute boxes do? I can't really understand...

Char, not cron. Without multiple crons, Nova would be very different.
Don't you pilot Mantas? It isn't AI; it's NI (natural intelligence) because Mantas are organic.

No idea on the hypergates. Maybe settings in the spin or spob that tell them to loop it instead of doing it when something is landing?
Contribute boxes just relate to require boxes. If something (doesn't matter what) has a require box set, then the player must a) be in a ship that contributes that, have an outfit that contributes it, or c) have selected a char that contributes it.

It sounds interesting. I could help with programming and debugging, but don't ask for any story. I can't write ;).
Being a pure Manta could result in interesting twists. I imagine your chance at greatness would be greatly reduced, as the Raven at the head of a battle formation simply doesn't get as much rep as an admiral does.
The CustPicID controls what half of the hypergate animation is used for opening and closing, and which half is used for the loop animation. For the normal hypergate animation, it needs to be set to 37 for the hypergate to animate properly.

Also, there is a setting for custom sound (can't remember it now) that will make ships exit at the correct angle, instead of coming out the back of the hypergate. It's all explained in the spöb entry in the nova bible.

I also beleive that to have operational hypergates the spöb ID number must be higher than 1000 and have "is hypergate" checked in the Spöb picker.

There's no need for it to be higher that 1000.
