I have a lvl 23 ranger and I have yet to find how to acess the book I keep geting a not experinced enough yet is there somewhere that I'm missing any help is appreciated. Thanks

I believe you access the book by hitting the 'C' key on your keyboard and use a quick spell by hitting 'V'. Don't quote me, though, as I haven't played PoG since before EV Nova came out.

Actually -esw-dragoon_77 is close. The "V" key will open the spell book. With most of the Ranger skills you have to mix ingredients together to create potions which then get placed in your inventory list for use when you want them. The necessary ingredients can be purchased from Master Norgha in the hidden village north of the N. Gidolan tunnel entrance or from Gewin, the herbalist, who can be found a couple of squares north of Fantrima.
I'm impressed that you were able to get to level 23 without the skills the Ranger is dependant on. It does pay to read the manual which is in the PoG game folder. The book which is in your inventory list does not open, it's merely a place keeper for the "real" book which you find with key "V".
The potions you concoct are most advantageous in the early game when your character is weak. But now that you know where they are, have some fun with them. ~RD
