Is it possible to create a plugin that...

automatically sets those mission bits so the computer knows you did the "basic" missions? I'm getting mighty tired at having to do the same missions time after time each time I try a new plugin (i.e. "EV Ultra"...)? I know there is a plugin called "Clear Mission Bits." How exactly does this plug work? Thanks!

Pop open the plug and take a look at it in ResEdit.

just open the char resource (nova data 1) and down in the OnStart feild set the bits you want. Umm off the top of my head, b33 and K147 gives you access to hypergates but thats all i know without my copy of the bits bible handy, but download yourself a copy and find the bits you want then set them. But you'll have to make a new pilot file. I assume you are doing that already though..

My pilot plug-in has OnStart missions pluged in, a link to it is in my signature. So does The New Pilot Accelerator. I used that plug as a guide for mine. Download it and look at it in ResEdit.

K147 gives you access to the hypergates, but b33 gives you access to the Sigma missions and upgrades. This will change in 1.0.2.
