In particular, LightWave versions 5.6 through to 6.5b were used. LightWave is currently at version 7.5b, and is available from (url="http://"http://www.newtek.com")NewTek(/url).

Your best bet for getting Lightwave at a cheap price is (url="http://"http://www.journeyed.com")www.journeyed.com(/url), which is a site that sells to students. If you are a student, Lightwave will run you about $400. If you aren't, however, it'll be over $1300.
Don't forget: pirating software is ILLEGAL.

Rather than use another number (and make it look like they did something new), they use a small letter, which usually indicates that it's not the "original" 7.5, but a "new" 7.5. They probably fixed some bugs with the original, and released a patch.
