I've been trying to make a few missions which rely on auxiliary dudes, but EVN keeps using the wrong ones. I was using a dude with RID=288, but my pilotlog revealed that it was loading 160. Assuming that I just needed to add 128, I tried setting the RID to 416. It loaded 160 again. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how to get round it?
And yes, I've tried the search feature.
Hrm. Now that's an odd one. Are you using NovaTools?

Happens using NovaTools, the Template editor in ResEdit and ConText/ResTore with Excel. And I deleted all my old pilots and my pilotlog each time, so they can't be affecting it at all.

Force of habit from newsgroups. Very handy for sorting topics. I'm surprised no-one's suggested it here before, though I suppose when it was just EV or EV and EVO, there wasn't quite so much need.
You're not the only one. This has been reported to Ambrosia as a bug, but I don't know what is being done about it.
Nova bugs out on higher numbered dudes in the AuxShipDude field. The same dudes work fine in the original ShipDude field.
The problem seems to be in the application, so there is nothing you can do about it. If you really want to get your missions working, replace some of the original dudes with your own. The original dude numbers work.

Suspected as much. Cheers for the info. Hopefully it'll be fixed in 1.0.2 then. For now I can do a poor man's infinite ship thing by using special ships and simply starting the mission over each time you land.

Actually, it has been suggested before, but few people use something like it. Nice to know that people are now though. I've seen several usages of similar things recently.
